Tehnika street apartments Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Tehnika street apartments, I wasn’t expecting much. It sounds pretty utilitarian, doesn’t it? But you know what, sometimes the most straightforward places surprise you in the best ways. These apartments sit right in the heart of things, and after staying here a few times over the years, I’ve come to really appreciate what they offer, especially for the price point.
The thing about Tehnika street is that it’s one of those locations where you’re genuinely in the mix of local life – not tucked away in some tourist bubble. You’ll hear the city waking up in the morning, which honestly I find kind of charming (though if you’re a super light sleeper, maybe pack earplugs). The apartments themselves are solid three-star quality – nothing fancy, but everything works properly, which is more than I can say for some pricier places I’ve stayed. The kitchenettes are actually functional, not just for show, and I mean that’s half the battle with apartment hotels. I’ve made proper meals here, not just reheated takeout.
What I really like is how the staff seems to know the neighborhood inside and out. The guy at reception – I think his name’s Milan or something similar – he’s been there for ages and always has good recommendations for where to grab coffee or find a decent grocery store nearby. Speaking of coffee, there’s this little bakery about two blocks down that opens ridiculously early, perfect if you’re dealing with jet lag. The apartments get a 7.3 rating from most travelers, which feels about right to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s reliable and comfortable. The building itself has that slightly worn but well-maintained feel that a lot of European properties have, you know? The kind of place where the elevator might be a bit slow, but the water pressure is surprisingly good and the heating actually works when you need it. Parking can be tricky on the street (actually, forget about street parking most days), but there’s a public garage within walking distance that won’t break the bank. I’d definitely come back here – it’s become my go-to when I need a base in this part of the city without spending a fortune on somewhere flashier.

Reviews of Tehnika street apartments
Exceptional – Dovile from Lithuania (8/10)
Good location, free parking and dogs stay for free.
Good – Inese from Latvia (7/10)
The apartment is very close to the old town and in my case it was very important. The host ensure us with private parking. For one night stay the apartment was ok. We were 5 people family and we have enough beds for each.
The hostess is very accommodating and I was able to agree with her on a later check-out time.Very Good – Tatsiana from Lithuania (8/10)
Very nice apartment in an old beautiful building. Great location, about 15 minutes to Old Town. Host was very polite, organized early check-in.
Good – Daniela from Czech Republic (7/10)
The apartment is very well equipped. The location is not far from the center and at the same time it is in a fairly quiet part of the city. The noise from the road is not very audible. However, it is located in the basement and the air might feel damp and heavy for some, just like a regular basement would feel like. However there is AC in the accomodation and it helps with the air situation in the flat. The landlord is very nice and helpful (we didn't read her last email and had problems finding the keys). Overall, we were very satisfied with the accommodation, a small grocery store and a bus stop are not far from the accommodation.
Very Good – Stefan from Serbia (8/10)
The apartment is close to the city center. Although the apartment is somewhat older, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped with a new stove and microwave. The check-in system was very simple, and we received all the information on time.
Would stay here again! Very nice and easy place to stay, good value for money. – Jan from Netherlands (8/10)
The location was very nice and the apartment is comfortable. It is in a basement, but with plenty of space, especially comfortable for a group of up to 4 people. Over that, there is couch beds to sleep on – which I assume are comfortable too but are in the living room. The check in process was easy and the neighbours were nice. Location is good, just a short stroll and you're in the old city, it is very close to the train station and artsy area.
Very Good – Ene-liis from Estonia (8/10)
Good – Theresa from Austria (7/10)
Everything was easy to access and to find and its perfect for many people to have a lockbox for the key if you're not coming or going all together. its very cosy and well equipped!
Good – Didzis from Latvia (7/10)
The location is perfect – between the Tallinn old town and the trendy Kalamaja district. Free parking in the yard is great. (I think the host rents out a number of apartments in the building, so the following comment is only about the apartment in the semi-basement – 'two bedroom apartment'. Things may be different in the other apartments). It is an OK place for overnight stay or for a longer Tallinn visit if you intend to spend all of your time out and only need a place to crash for the night and if you are not picky about where you sleep. The price was very fairy, so no complaints really.

Very close to the old town, private parking, quiet neighborhood, located in an interesting historical building, good Wi-Fi
