You know what caught me off guard about SoulLight Studio? The name had me expecting some sort of wellness retreat with crystals and meditation cushions everywhere, but it’s actually this surprisingly cool little 3-star place that feels way more upscale than its rating suggests. I mean, with a 9.3 guest rating, clearly I wasn’t the only one who walked in with low expectations and left genuinely impressed.

The whole place has this artistic, boutique vibe that’s hard to pin down – sort of like staying in a friend’s really well-designed apartment rather than a typical hotel. The rooms are thoughtfully put together with these interesting light fixtures (okay, maybe the name makes sense after all) and you’ll find little design touches that someone clearly spent time thinking about. It’s not trying too hard to be trendy, which honestly makes it feel more authentic. The staff actually seems to care about what they’re doing too, which you don’t always get at this price point. Check-in was smooth, and they knew their stuff when I asked about the neighborhood.

What really sold me though was how quiet it stays even during busy periods. I’ve stayed at supposedly higher-end places where you’re hearing conversations through the walls at midnight, but the soundproofing here is solid – I slept better than I expected to. The whole building has this calming energy that’s hard to fake, and I found myself actually hanging out in the common areas instead of just rushing through them. Sure, you’re not getting a full-service spa or room service until 2am, but if you want a place with personality that won’t break the bank and where you’ll actually enjoy spending time, this hits that sweet spot perfectly. It’s the kind of place I’d book again without hesitation, and coming from someone who’s picky about where I stay, that’s saying something.
