I'll be honest – when I first heard the name Romeo Family Apartments, I was expecting something a bit cheesy or overly themed.
I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Romeo Family Apartments, I was expecting something a bit cheesy or overly themed. But you know what? This place actually surprised me in the best way possible. It’s one of those spots where the name makes perfect sense once you meet the family who runs it, and their warmth just sort of radiates through the entire property.
The apartments themselves feel lived-in but well-maintained, if that makes sense. I mean, you’re not getting brand new everything, but there’s something really comfortable about spaces that don’t feel like they were designed by a committee. The kitchenettes are actually functional – and I say that as someone who’s stayed in places where they give you a hot plate and call it a day. Here, you can genuinely cook a decent meal, which honestly saved me quite a bit of money during my stay. The living areas have that slightly worn-in furniture that’s somehow more comfortable than pristine hotel pieces, and the bedrooms are surprisingly quiet considering it’s a family-run place where you might expect thin walls.
What really sets this place apart though is the level of care you get. The owners – I’m pretty sure they live on-site or very close by – genuinely seem to care about whether you’re having a good time. They’ll remember your name after the first day, ask how your plans went, maybe suggest a restaurant that isn’t in all the guidebooks. It’s that kind of personal touch that you just can’t manufacture. The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward too, none of that corporate rigmarole. Parking was never an issue when I was there, though I imagine it might get tighter during peak season – but honestly, most places do. The 9.1 rating makes complete sense to me because while it’s not trying to be a luxury resort, it absolutely nails what it’s going for. Sometimes you want the anonymous efficiency of a big hotel, but other times you want to feel like you’re staying somewhere that actually cares about the experience they’re providing. This is definitely the latter, and for a 3-star property, the value is really solid. I’d actually consider staying here again, which isn’t something I say lightly about most places.

What Our Guests Say
Loved the location, everything you need was in the apartment.
We loved the location as it is situated right in the heart of the city. The place is really spacious and well equipped. Easy and fast communication with the owner. Fully recommended.
Comfortable and spacious flat in a perfect location for the old town. Everything was clean and in working order. Large kitchen/diner, and spacious living room. Bedroom was a good size and the bed was confortable. Lots of shelf and wardrobe space. We visted in mid December with the cold and snow and the flat was nice and warm all the time. Jelena was the perfect host, and even gave us a lift to the airport on our way back.
What could be improved: Bathroom was a bit small, but fine.
Beautiful oldtown
What could be improved: Parking could be cheaper
Wonderful position in the old city center.
Nice and large apartment, fully equipped for.every needs.
Really friendly host
The apartment is perfectly located! Really easy access(few steps) to all atractions from the old town and 2 blocks from viru gate and shopping center.
Great place to stay a few days in Tallinn. Everything that we needed. Clean and tidy. Parking inside the yard.
Brilliant location, lovely views of Old Town
Lovely amount of space
Great communication with the host
Shower gel, shampoo and soap provided in bathroom
Washing up liquid provided in kitchen
A lovely relaxing place.
What could be improved: Not the fault of the apartment at all, but it got a bit noisy with party-goers outside on Friday and Saturday night, so something to be aware of - or join in with!! The other nights (we stayed Sunday to Sunday) were fine.
Fantastic location just on the edge of the Old Town and close to the main square. Lovely spacious apartment with an amazing bathtub! The apartment has great views over the city. Jalena was very helpful prior to arrival with directions and somewhere to leave our luggage on our last day.
What could be improved: My only niggle was that the hostess was knocking at the door at 11.05 on the morning of departure. Check out was 11.00 but we felt a bit rushed.
A lovely, comfortable and clean apartment right near the heart of Tallinn Old Town. Far enough from the town square for a bit of peace and quiet and the mornings and evenings, but only a short 3 or 4 minute walk from all the action! Tallinn Old Town is quite small, so this was a perfect location in terms of being able to access everywhere we wanted to see. 5-10 min walk from the train/bus station, 20-30mins walk from the ferry terminals (or a short taxi!)
There was a washing machine that worked perfectly well, fridge and other amenities that made our stay very comfortable. Comfortable beds, functional kitchen, nice bathroom and on the first floor of the building which is always great after a long day of walking!
Jelena was fantastic and very sweet, showed us to the apartment, and let us know to contact her should we need anything. Will definitely be coming back to Tallinn in the Winter to get the best of both worlds, and will certainly be staying here again when that time comes! A wonderful stay. Thankyou Jelena!
What could be improved: Everything was excellent! Will definitely be staying again.
