Vip Old Town Apartments
You know what caught me off guard about Vip Old Town Apartments?
You know what caught me off guard about Vip Old Town Apartments? The name sounds a bit flashy, but honestly, this place is way more authentic and charming than I expected. I mean, sure, it’s a 3-star property, but sometimes those turn out to be the real gems – and this one definitely surprised me in the best way.
The apartments themselves have this lived-in warmth that you just don’t get in sterile hotel chains. Each unit feels like someone’s actual home rather than a generic rental space. The kitchens are properly equipped too – not just those sad little kitchenettes with a broken coffee maker and two plates. I’m talking real cookware, decent-sized fridges, and enough counter space to actually prep a meal if you want to save some money or just crave something homemade after days of restaurant food. The Wi-Fi was solid throughout my stay, which honestly matters more than people want to admit these days. And the beds? Surprisingly comfortable. I was expecting those rock-hard mattresses you sometimes get in apartment rentals, but I actually slept really well.
What I loved most was how the place sits right in the heart of things without feeling touristy or overcrowded. You’re genuinely in a neighborhood where locals live and work, so you get that real slice-of-life experience – morning coffee runs, evening strolls, the whole thing. The building itself has character without being run-down, if that makes sense. There’s this nice balance where you feel like you’re staying somewhere with history but everything still works properly. Check-in was smooth too, which is always a relief when you’re dragging luggage around. The staff seemed to actually know the area well – they gave me restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots, and their directions were spot-on. I appreciated that they didn’t hover but were easy to reach when I had questions. The 8.2 rating makes total sense to me because this isn’t trying to be luxury, it’s just trying to be a really good place to stay, and it succeeds at that completely. It’s the kind of spot where you settle in quickly and start feeling like a temporary local rather than just passing through.
Hotels in Tallinn offer visitors the opportunity to stay in the heart of this Baltic jewel, with easy access to museums, medieval towers, and startup districts.

What Our Guests Say
It’s a very central Appartment, kind of easy to find, the washing machine is a great bonus. Small place but it got the job done. Many great spots nearby to eat and drink.
What could be improved: There’s a pod machine but we had to buy the pods. We were on level five but there’s no lift, so be prepared for that. The host was nice but there were so many messages it started to get annoying. I would have thought there’s be a lock box to pick up a key but we had to coordinate to meet with someone and it was a lot of faff. The next few days had further messages about when we were leaving, how to check out, all of which we were already told, so it was just a bit irritating, wouldn’t book again because the keys were just too much trouble. But the person we met (I don’t think the owner) was very nice
Great place, good amenities, friendly staff. Nothing to complain. Might be a bit noisy on Friday nights, but hey, it's the very centre after all.
Everything
What could be improved: No complaints
Ich hatte eine Ankunft in der Nacht. Mit einem kleinen Aufpreis war dennoch Bezug und Schlüsselübergabe möglich. Top !!!
I would highly recommend VIP Old Town Apartments. The location was excellent, an easy 20-30 min walk from the ferry terminal (depending on weather conditions!! Snow etc). I was in Tallinn for the Christmas markets and the atmosphere did not disappoint. The particular apartment I had was a small one, perfect for a solo traveller or couple and very comfortable, warm, and located right in the Old Town close to Saint Nicholas' Church (Niguliste museum). It had a private shower and toilet and washing machine, comfortable double bed and very effective radiator heating. It's also in a very safe area and a short walk (3 min) from the old town square. There are plenty of cafés nearby as well as grocery stores for food. I would choose this place again.
What could be improved: I have no serious complaints. The only niggle is to be careful taking a shower, as in drying the floor afterwards!!! Just also to be aware that the particular apartment I had was on the top floor, accessible by stairs only, no elevator, so be careful if booking if you are mobility impaired.
super zentral
What could be improved: alles prima
What could be improved: Franchement pour le prix, il n'y a rien à redire.
Very good location, not noisy, clean
The location is very central. Even it is close to the party area the nights were silent.
What could be improved: The apartment under the roof was insanely hot.
Excellent location in the centre of the old town. Our host at the flat was really helpful and went out of her way to replace a broken coffee machine for us, which we were very thankful for first thing in the morning. It was great to have a washing machine in the bathroom available to use too. Great restaurants closeby, highly recommend the Rataskaevu 16 restaurant for a fun evening out. Food is excellent, as are the staff, and interesting toilet with a glass floor! The Parrot Mini bar across the road was an incredible find, unbelievable world cuisine, awesome atmosphere, very popular recommend booking. It is an experience you will not forget!
What could be improved: A few tiny observations; the apartment we had was at the top, up 5 flights of stairs. If you have any mobility or respiratory issues something to keep in mind. The apartment has everything you would wish for although it is not big, space between the bed and the TV on the wall meant you had squeeze pass it to get by.
