You know what really struck me about Mere Puiestee Apartment? It’s one of those places that immediately feels like you made the right choice. I mean, the moment I walked up to Mere puiestee 8, I could tell this wasn’t going to be another cookie-cutter hotel experience. The building has this understated elegance that fits perfectly with Tallinn’s Old Town vibe – you’re literally in the heart of everything, but somehow it doesn’t feel touristy or overwhelming.

The apartment itself is honestly better than most hotels I’ve stayed in. Everything’s been thoughtfully updated without losing that European charm that makes Tallinn so special. The windows are fantastic – you get this lovely view of the tree-lined street, and in the mornings there’s this perfect amount of light filtering through. What I really appreciated was how quiet it stays, even though you’re right in the city center. I was worried about noise (you know how these central locations can be), but the street is surprisingly peaceful, especially in the evenings. The kitchen is actually functional too – not one of those tiny hotel kitchenettes where you can barely make coffee. I ended up grabbing fresh bread from the little bakery down the street and having proper breakfasts, which honestly made the whole stay feel more authentic.

Location-wise, you really can’t do better if you want to explore Tallinn properly. The Old Town is literally a five-minute walk – I timed it because I’m that kind of person – and you can easily wander over to Toompea Hill or down to the harbor without needing any transportation. But here’s what the guidebooks don’t tell you: being on Mere puiestee means you’re close to where actual locals live and work, not just the tourist bubble. There’s this great little café about two blocks away that serves proper Estonian coffee, and a small grocery store that stays open late when you need those random travel essentials. The 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s the kind of place that gets all the important stuff right without trying to be flashy about it. Check-in was smooth, the place was spotless, and honestly, for a 3-star property, it delivers way beyond what you’d expect. I’d definitely book it again, and that’s saying something because I’m usually pretty picky about where I stay.

  Excellent location – just across the road from the old centre of Tallinn, and around the corner from some trendy and modern cafes. The view from our apartment was stunning – we looked right out onto the old town and there was even a ledge to sit at the window and look at St Olaf's tower. Overall a very comfortable apartment – reasonably sized, comfortable bed and everything had been thought of (even kitchen roll was supplied, as well as two hairdryers!). You can pay for your laundry to be done (at a very affordable price) which is great. Everything was really clean and we thought the price was very reasonable. The apartment is an extremely short walk from the ferry to Helsinki (about 5-10 minutes) and there is a bus just a short walk away that regularly goes directly to the airport (from the flat to the airport it's about 15-30 minutes). The 24 hour reception was also very useful. I would definitely stay here again.
  
  What could be improved: Very minor things – for example, the shower could be a little annoying as it would leave the bathroom floor quite wet and the towels were also a little small/could do with replacing. Theis is all very minor though – these things didn't impact our stay at all and I would highly recommend staying here.

  Great location and excellent value for money, room is clean, modern, and is equipped with everything you need. We had a small issue and the owner was able to attend quickly, professionally and was very friendly. Overall great value for money in a perfect location.
  
  What could be improved: It was a little hot with no A/C and 3 people, but the fan worked well. This was a very hot time though which would not be the case for the vast majority of the year.

  Really modern, clean and comfortable. I had an apartment at the back of the building and it was lovely and quiet, only distant street noise.
  Great location by the Old Town but also well placed to get public transport to other places – Kadriog Park, Televiski.
  Handy to have 24 hour reception and a lift for upper floors.
  
  What could be improved: A welcome sheet would have been useful, with info about the apartment / area. Also a tea towel for drying kitchen items.
