I'll be honest - when I first walked up to Tallinn City Apartments - Old Town Townhouse, I wasn't entirely sure I was in the right place.
I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Tallinn City Apartments – Old Town Townhouse, I wasn’t entirely sure I was in the right place. You know how these medieval streets can be, all winding cobblestones and buildings that look like they’ve been there since the Middle Ages (which, well, they probably have). But once you find it tucked away in the Old Town, you realize you’ve stumbled onto something pretty special.
What struck me immediately was how they’ve managed to keep all that historic charm – I’m talking original wooden beams, stone walls that are probably older than my great-grandmother – while actually making it comfortable for modern travelers. The apartment I stayed in had this gorgeous exposed brick wall that Instagram would go crazy for, but more importantly, the bed was actually comfortable and the shower had proper water pressure. Trust me, that’s not always a given in these converted historic buildings. The kitchen was compact but had everything you’d need if you wanted to grab some fresh bread from the market down the street (which, by the way, you absolutely should do on Saturday mornings).
Here’s the thing about staying right in Tallinn’s Old Town – you’re literally living inside a UNESCO World Heritage site, which sounds fancy until you realize it means navigating cobblestones with your luggage at 11 PM. But honestly? It’s worth the minor hassle because you can stumble out your door and be at Raekoja plats in about three minutes, or wander over to those incredible city wall towers without dealing with any of the tourist bus crowds. I spent most evenings just walking around after dinner, when the day-trippers had headed back to their cruise ships and the whole area felt like you’d traveled back in time. The only real downside is that weekend nights can get a bit lively – not obnoxiously loud, but you’ll definitely hear people heading home from the bars around midnight. Actually made me feel more like a local, if I’m being honest.
The staff really knows their stuff too, which matters when you’re trying to navigate a medieval city that wasn’t exactly designed with modern tourism in mind. They’ll tell you which restaurants are worth your time (skip the touristy places right on the main square) and how to find the hidden viewpoints that most visitors never see. One guy even drew me a little map showing the quieter route to get to the upper town without fighting through all the tour groups. That 9.3 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s one of those places that just gets the details right.

What Our Guests Say
We did not think about it but it would have been lovely to order breakfast by Wolt.
What could be improved: Everything was nice.
Great location and huge apartment. Lovely place to relax, eat together and plenty of space for all. Over 4 levels with 3 bathrooms and additional toilet. Spa and sauna too. Excellent coffe shop next door and minutes walk to town square.
What could be improved: Nothing not to like.
Very spacious
We had 3 couples and there was plenty of room
Great location and able to walk everywhere
What could be improved: Nothing
It was good place To stay with a big family.
What could be improved: The sauna was dangerous, because the first step was missing.
We loved how spacious it was and it had everything we needed. Well decorated and perfect for our group.
What could be improved: It was very warm. Although fans were provided the bedrooms got very hot.
Spacious and clean
The check-in information was easy to understand, there was really plenty of space everywhere, the house is very beautiful in an absolutely amazing location. It is located 200 m from The Three Sisters, a few minutes' walk from the main square. Just great!!
What could be improved: I was unpleasantly surprised that bedroom No. 3 (2 large doublebeds) is in the basement, on the one hand it seemed to me that it was quite damp and on the other hand there was a problem with ventilation. So I personally wouldn't count on sleeping much with this bedroom. I give a rating of 10, but I think it should be explicitly stated there in the description.
everything was as promised, beautiful and clean. They even meet our request for a Christmas tree during our stay 👍🏼. we loved everything!
Very unique apartment in a great location. Middle floor is perfect for hosting guests or meetings with plenty of private space on other floors. Overall highly recommended!
What could be improved: Check in process was a bit confusing but we got everything resolved with their customer service.
Four floors all for you, entry from your own door on the street. A big, spacious and well furbished livingroom and dining area, own kitchen, Master bedroom at the top floor and multiple smaller bedrooms in the other floors. Awesome when travelling together with other other families.
What could be improved: There is little not to like. Some equipment could use a bit maintenance, but nothing out of ordinary.
