Tallink Express Hotel Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Tallink Express Hotel? It’s one of those places that doesn’t try to be something it’s not – and honestly, that’s refreshing. I mean, you walk in and immediately understand this is a solid three-star spot that knows exactly what it’s doing. The lobby has this clean, efficient vibe that reminded me of Scandinavian design (which makes sense given the Tallink connection), with blonde wood accents and plenty of natural light streaming through oversized windows.
The rooms are actually pretty smart in their layout – I was expecting something cramped, but whoever designed these spaces really thought about how people actually use hotel rooms. The beds are comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up with that weird hotel-bed back ache, and the bathrooms have decent water pressure, which you can’t always count on. What I really appreciated were the little touches that show they get business travelers – plenty of outlets near the desk area, blackout curtains that actually block light, and the WiFi was fast enough that I could video call without that awkward lag. The soundproofing is pretty good too, though you might catch some hallway chatter if you’re a really light sleeper.
Here’s the thing about this place – it sits in that sweet spot where you’re getting genuine value without any pretentious nonsense. The staff actually seems to know what they’re doing (quick check-in, helpful with local recommendations), and the common areas stay clean throughout the day. I noticed they keep the coffee station stocked, which sounds minor but trust me, it matters when you’re dealing with early meetings or jet lag. The breakfast setup is straightforward – nothing fancy, but the basics are fresh and there’s usually something warm available. Parking was easier than I expected, and the location puts you close enough to things without being right in the chaos of tourist central. Look, it’s not going to wow you with marble lobbies or infinity pools, but sometimes you just want a place that does the fundamentals really well – and that’s exactly what you get here.
Best hotels in Tallinn range from charming boutique properties in the medieval Old Town to elegant modern hotels with stunning views of Tallinn Bay and ancient city walls.

Decent hotel. – Michael from United Kingdom (8/10)
Close to both old town and the docks, ideal if you're planning to include a ferry trip. Staff were relaxed and friendly. Breakfast was respectable and you can purchase a lunch buffet at a reasonable price. Nearby Circle K petrol station serves cheap but excellent burgers and hot dogs, plus shop priced beer that you can take back to the hotel if you wish.
