Rataskaevu 6 Apartment Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Rataskaevu 6 Apartment? I was expecting another generic rental in Tallinn’s Old Town, but this place actually has character. The building sits right on one of those narrow cobblestone streets that makes you feel like you’ve wandered into a medieval fairy tale – except with really good WiFi and a coffee machine that doesn’t require an engineering degree to operate.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of things without dealing with the chaos of the main tourist drags. Rataskaevu street itself is pretty quiet in the mornings (well, until about 9 AM when the tour groups start rolling through), but you’re literally a two-minute walk from Town Hall Square. I mean, you can hear the church bells from your window, which sounds romantic until you realize they chime every hour… including 3 AM. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a hotel – there’s this lived-in comfort that a lot of short-term rentals try to fake but rarely nail. The kitchen is actually functional (I made coffee there every morning and even attempted some local rye bread toasting), and the bathroom has one of those rainfall showerheads that makes you want to stay in there way too long.
What I really appreciated was how the place managed to blend old-world charm with modern necessities. The windows are these beautiful old wooden frames that look out onto the medieval street, but they’re double-glazed so you’re not freezing in winter or listening to every conversation from the street below. Honestly, the heating works better than in some fancy hotels I’ve stayed at. The beds are comfortable – not life-changing, but definitely better than what you’d expect from a 3-star setup. Storage space is decent too, which matters when you’re unpacking for more than a night or two. I stayed there during shoulder season in late September, and while the Old Town gets pretty busy during the day, evenings on Rataskaevu street have this lovely quiet energy where you can actually hear yourself think. The 8.8 rating makes total sense – it’s not trying to be luxury, but it nails everything it sets out to do. Plus, there’s something genuinely appealing about having your own space in a city where hotel rooms can feel cramped and impersonal. You get the independence to wander down to the little grocery store on Viru street, grab some Estonian beer and local cheese, and have an impromptu picnic in your own living room while planning the next day’s adventures.
Best hotels in Tallinn range from charming boutique properties in the medieval Old Town to elegant modern hotels with stunning views of Tallinn Bay and ancient city walls.

Location was absolutely perfect ! The house had all the amenities we needed. Hosting and communication was excellent. As a family of 5 we didn’t need anything else really. Restaurants, bars and 24×7 super market all suitably located next door. Thank you for the hospitality!!

Pidimme asunnon sijainnista ja ihanasta poreammeesta.
What could be improved: Valtavasti natiseva sänky oli hieman epämukava.Miguel419 from Spain – 25 August 2024 (8/10)
La ubicación es magnífica, en el centro y cerca de los monumentos. La cocina estaba bien equipada. Silencioso y tranquilo.
What could be improved: Las dos habitaciones no tenían ventanas y las ventanas del salón daban a un patio interior. Un poco oscuro.John from Poland – 29 July 2023 (8/10)
Great location in old town. Quiet and walkable to all the landmarks.
What could be improved: Pillows were very thin and didn't offer much support.Igor from Russia – 19 July 2023 (9/10)
Супер расположение. Старый дом в старом городе. Всегда хотел посмотреть. Квартира – очень большая. Большая ванная комната с джакузи (на любителя). Тихий дворик. Авторский ремонт. Большая кухня.
What could be improved: Ремонт немного устарел, но ещё Ок. Одного комплекта ключей маловато. Не разложился диван. На диване не было комплекта белья, пришлось докупать за 10 евро. Спальни без окон (просто, чтобы знали).Novomirski from Estonia – 22 April 2023 (9/10)
Всё супер
Turk from Slovenia – 10 April 2023 (4/10)
Great location in the old town. Spacious beds and bathroom.
What could be improved: Both bedrooms are without windows and they also didn't seem to have any ventilation system. The appartment is in the old buildig in the ground/first floor and it had a strange smell of dampness.Adam from United Kingdom – 21 December 2022 (9/10)
Location was perfect, host very friendly and relaxed with check out time
