What struck me most was how the owners managed to create this perfect balance – close enough to the beach that you can actually hear the Baltic waves on quiet mornings, but tucked away on a side street so you’re not dealing with the summer beach crowds trampling past your window at 7 AM.

The space itself feels like staying at a friend’s place rather than some sterile hotel room. Everything’s thoughtfully arranged – there’s this cozy reading nook by the window where I spent way too many evenings with a cup of tea, watching locals walk their dogs along the tree-lined street. The kitchen actually has proper cooking equipment (not those sad hotel hotplates), which came in handy since there’s a little market just around the corner on Kloostrimetsa Road where you can grab fresh Baltic fish and local produce. Parking was surprisingly easy too – none of that nightmare you get in the city center where you’re circling blocks for twenty minutes. The check-in process was refreshingly personal; the owner actually took time to mark up a local map with her favorite walking trails through Pirita Forest and the best spots to catch sunset over the bay.

What really won me over, though, was discovering just how perfectly positioned this place is for exploring a different side of Tallinn. You’re literally ten minutes from Pirita Convent ruins (which are hauntingly beautiful and way less crowded than the main tourist sites), and the coastal walking path that stretches for miles along the Baltic shoreline starts practically at your doorstep. On rainy days – and let’s face it, this is Estonia, so there will be rainy days – you can still hop on public transport and be in the heart of Tallinn within 20 minutes. But honestly? I found myself wanting to stay put most evenings, just enjoying the peaceful neighborhood vibe and that perfect rating of 10 starts to make complete sense once you settle in for a few days.
