Hotel Description
Nestled in the heart of Estonia’s captivating capital, the 4-star Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel offers a perfect blend of historic charm and modern comfort. Located at Lai 24/Pikk 29 in Tallinn’s City-Centre, this well-established accommodation sits within the cobblestone streets of Tallinn’s medieval Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site. With an impressive rating of 8.0, the Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel has earned its reputation as a highly regarded destination for travelers seeking an authentic Estonian experience without compromising on quality and service. The strategic location in the 10133 postal district places guests mere steps away from the city’s most treasured landmarks, including the iconic Town Hall Square, the majestic Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, and the picturesque Toompea Hill, which offers breathtaking panoramic views of the city’s red-tiled rooftops and the glistening Baltic Sea beyond.
The Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel embodies the essence of Tallinn itself—a harmonious juxtaposition of medieval heritage and contemporary elegance. As its name suggests, the hotel features a tranquil garden area, a rare and cherished amenity within the densely historical Old Town district. This verdant oasis provides a peaceful retreat where guests can unwind after a day of exploration, perhaps with a traditional Estonian beverage while listening to the distant sounds of church bells that have echoed through these streets for centuries. The hotel’s interiors thoughtfully honor the building’s historical significance while ensuring all modern conveniences are readily available to guests. The 4-star rating manifests in attentive service, well-appointed rooms, and facilities that cater to both business and leisure travelers. Whether you’re in Tallinn for its vibrant cultural scene, the enchanting Christmas Market (one of Europe’s most atmospheric), or for business in this increasingly important Baltic tech hub, the Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel serves as an ideal base for your Estonian adventures.
What truly sets the Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel apart is its unique positioning at the intersection of two historic streets—Lai and Pikk—providing guests with unparalleled access to the authentic rhythm of Old Town life. Step outside the hotel’s doors and find yourself immersed in a living museum where guild houses, churches, and merchant homes tell the story of Tallinn’s prosperous Hanseatic past. Within walking distance, visitors can discover local artisan workshops, sample traditional Estonian cuisine in rustic cellar restaurants, or enjoy the modern café culture that has blossomed within these ancient walls. The hotel’s solid 8.0 rating reflects consistently positive guest experiences, with particular appreciation for its perfect location, the helpful multilingual staff, and the establishment’s commitment to preserving the authentic character of its historic setting while providing all the comforts expected of a modern 4-star hotel. For travelers seeking to experience the magic of Tallinn—from its medieval splendor to its forward-thinking dynamism—the Meriton Old Town Garden Hotel offers not just accommodation, but a gateway to Estonia’s captivating capital, making it a perennial favorite among discerning visitors to this Baltic gem.

Clean, quiet, beautiful building.

Lovely little hotel. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable. Kettle and mini fridge in room. Decent shower in bathroom. Our room was above the street but really very quiet in the main. Great breakfast buffet with something to suit everyone.
Wonderful – Mayya from Russia (9/10)
Great location, friendly staff, the breakfast was good, and the room was clean. It was quiet too, which was a blessing (some hotels in Tallinn are located next to very loud clubs, thankfully this was not the case). I would gladly stay there again.

Great location and the building had so much character
Small room in superbly located, good value hotel. – George from United Kingdom (8/10)
The location was excellent and interesting – right on Pikki, the main street in the Old Town. The room was small but well designed, reasonably comfortable and fully adequate for us. The staff were helpful in letting us leave luggage with them ahead of check-in and after check-out. We had a long walk along corridors and up a set of stairs at the far end from where we checked in to our room, which worried us a little beofre we started – and then found that we had walked the length of the block inside the hotel and that the main street was easily accessible, two floors down, via another exit.
Very Good – Deirdre from Ireland (8/10)
I liked the Meriton. It is a very old building in the Old Town of Tallinn. It is old fashioned but comfortable and reception staff were very pleasant and ordered a taxi for me to go to the airport. There was a good selection of food at breakfast time. It is literally a two minute walk to the Town Hall Square but was still fairly quiet.
