Luxury Suites with sauna by Rikas Hotels Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into Luxury Suites with sauna by Rikas Hotels, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect from the name alone. But this place actually surprised me in the best way possible. Located right on Sauna street (yes, that’s really the street name, and yes, there’s definitely a sauna), you’re basically in the heart of Tallinn’s Old Town without the tourist chaos that comes with being directly on the main square.

The suites themselves are genuinely spacious – I mean, you can actually unpack your entire suitcase without playing Tetris with your belongings, which is refreshing after staying in some of Europe’s shoebox-sized “luxury” rooms. What really sold me though was the sauna situation. It’s not some tiny afterthought tucked in a basement corner; they’ve got proper Estonian saunas that locals would actually approve of. You know how sometimes hotel amenities feel like they’re just checking boxes? Well, this isn’t one of those times. The wood smells right, the heat feels authentic, and honestly, after walking around Tallinn’s cobblestone streets all day, it’s exactly what your legs are begging for.

The location is kind of perfect if you ask me – you can walk to Toompea Castle in about eight minutes (I timed it), but you’re far enough from the main tourist drag that you won’t hear drunk bachelor parties stumbling back to their hostels at 3 AM. There’s this little café called Rukis just around the corner that serves incredible black bread, and the staff actually pointed me toward it instead of trying to sell me overpriced room service. Speaking of staff, they seem to genuinely know the city rather than just reciting scripted recommendations. The woman at check-in told me exactly which tram to take to reach Kadriorg Park and warned me that the 11 line gets packed around 5 PM – details you only learn from living somewhere, not from a training manual. The 7.5 rating feels about right honestly; it’s solid without being perfect. The Wi-Fi occasionally hiccups, and some of the bathroom fixtures show their age a bit, but these are minor things when you’re getting authentic Estonian hospitality in a spot that feels more like a local secret than a tourist trap.

Reviews of Luxury Suites with sauna by Rikas Hotels

  • It was nice, but the sauna is exceptionally small. – Marc from Estonia – February 27, 2025 (8/10)

Location was OK, but there is no parking nearby. Had to walk for a decent amount of time. The living room is huge, kitchen is nice and the bed is comforable. There is a big desk for working. The toilet is also very nice and luxurious.

What could be improved: The sauna is seriously tiny, it can only fit one person comfortably. The living room, while being very large, is quite empty.

  • Time spent in a historical environment is in any case an enriching experience. – Kätlin from Estonia – December 19, 2024 (8/10)

The location of the apartment was perfect, the rooms were spacious, the vibe of history was felt. The possibility to use the pleasures of the sauna undoubtedly added additional value.

What could be improved: There wasn't that much emphasis on cleanliness. There are clear signs that this apartment is in very high demand, so there are traces of overexploitation.

  • Wonderful – Lily from Estonia – April 22, 2024 (9/10)

Very spacious and nice apartment in the Old town. Bedroom well placed on the more quiet part of the location.

What could be improved: No kettle

  • R – Riikka from Finland – March 11, 2024 (8/10)

Apartment was spacious and beautiful. Sauna warmed up quickly and the tub worked well. Very good value for the money.

What could be improved: It was quite cold and took a good while for the apartment to warm up. The key to the downstairs door didn't go in the lock and we had to fight with it for a while, but eventually got in.

  • Beautiful place with great location – Aiti-marin from Indonesia – January 18, 2024 (9/10)

Great location, I stayed during the week and noise level was surprisingly low for such a central location… might be slightly noisier during the weekend. Lovely place, clean and comfortable. Nice vibe. Be aware that there’s no lift so with a huge heavy suitcase might be tricky but not impossible. The wifi code doesn’t work but I had great phone service with unlimited fast data so didn’t need it and didn’t ask for the correct one. If you know you will need it, check it straight away, I’m sure it will be provided. Didn’t test the sauna or the spa but all in all great place.

What could be improved: The tv could be bigger considering the size of the room and how far the couch is from it. The bathroom has slight mildew or similar odour that I masked easily with a nice natural perfumed candle safely placed on the window sill. Worked wonders.

  • Great location, good communication, nice old building with lots of opportunities – Erkki from Finland – August 23, 2023 (9/10)

Location was just great. Lots of space also. Big enough freezer and fridge. Wi-Fi was just great after you realized the password 😀. It’s not the sand than in instructions. Flexible host and good communication. The bed was nice and curtains ok. No air conditioning, but not needed this time.

What could be improved: If summer then air conditioning maybe suitable, but this time ok. Maybe some noise if weekend. But on Tuesday to Wednesday no noise at all.

  • Spacious nicely decorated flat with excellent location. – Teija from Finland – February 27, 2023 (8/10)

The apartment was very nice in a historical building. We are family of four adults and there was enough space everyone.

What could be improved: The apartment was quite cool and the water heating system is not enough for everyone to use warm water. And the benches in the sauna are dangerous.

  • Would visit again – Rein from Estonia – February 4, 2023 (9/10)

    Excellent location, coziness

What could be improved: Very small TV

  • Very Good – Heino from Finland – January 6, 2023 (8/10)

Apartment had sauna (size of one person), location was great in old town, supermarket Prisma was close. Price was reasonable.

What could be improved: We stayed at Christmas and neighbours played music and kept noice till 4-5 in the morning, two nights.
Frying pan was beyond bad condition. It should have been replaced long time ago.

  • Good – Natasha from United Kingdom – August 2, 2025 (7/10)

Great location and value. The feel and old furniture was beautiful

What could be improved: WiFi was not working, some of the apartment was a little run down
