First Impressions
Walking into Luxury Suites – Viru Keskus by Rikas Hotels, you immediately get that “right in the thick of things” feeling. I mean, you’re literally sitting on top of one of Tallinn’s busiest shopping centers, which sounds chaotic but actually works brilliantly. The lobby feels modern and polished — not flashy, just well-done in that understated way that four-star places do best.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about this spot: you step outside and Old Town is right there, maybe a three-minute walk to those medieval cobblestones everyone comes to see. But you’re also connected to Viru Keskus below, which honestly saved me multiple times when I needed something quick — whether that was grabbing dinner after a long day or picking up forgotten essentials. The couples who stay here absolutely rave about the location, and I get it. You can wander the romantic old streets, then duck into a modern mall when the weather turns (and in Estonia, it will).
The Room Experience
The suites here feel more like temporary apartments than hotel rooms, which is exactly what you want when you’re staying more than a night or two. Each room has this smart layout that gives you space to actually live a bit — there’s a proper seating area that doesn’t feel like an afterthought. The windows are huge, and depending on which way you’re facing, you’ll either get city views or glimpses of the Old Town’s spires. The beds are solid (firm but not rock-hard), and the bathrooms have that clean, Scandinavian-influenced design that feels both practical and nice to look at.
Daily Rhythms
What struck me most was how the hotel works with your actual travel rhythm rather than against it. There’s no formal restaurant, but honestly, you don’t need one — you’ve got the entire Viru Keskus food court downstairs plus some genuinely good Estonian places within a block or two. The staff seems to get that most people staying here want to explore rather than hang around the hotel, so they’re helpful with directions and recommendations without being pushy about it. Parking is available if you’re driving, though I’d honestly recommend just walking everywhere from here.
Why Guests Love It
This place nails something that a lot of hotels miss — it gives you a genuine base in the city rather than just a place to sleep. You’re not stuck in some hotel district wondering how to get anywhere interesting. Instead, you’re dropped right into Tallinn’s daily life, with the Old Town’s tourist magic just steps away when you want it. The combination of modern comfort and that unbeatable location score of 9.6 isn’t just marketing speak — you really do feel like you’re staying in the heart of everything that matters in this city.

Wonderful The apartment is in a convenient location, has everything you need, but a lot of furniture, it feels like you are spending the night in an Ikea store).
What could be improved: Not a very convenient check-in, we had to wait for a half an hour at the door. We could not get through to the apartment manager and stood there until passers-by opened the door downstairs. It is also a pity that the key does not open the parking lot entrance on the fourth floor, we parked in the Viru parking and had to go around with our luggage.
Location, location, location Great location. As central as it can be. Easy access. Easy check in and out. Nice huge balcony. Well laid out apartment and lots and lots and lots of storage, plenty of spare bedding and towels and comfortable sleep
What could be improved: Potentially could be an absolutely fantastic apartment but it has seen better days and is a bit “fried” from the edges. Some TLC would not go a miss . Property lacks attention to the detail and could do with a bit more care. There are bits of coffee machine in the cupboard, coffee filters but no actual coffee machine … couple of dining chairs are wobbly, was scared to sit on it properly incase it breaks. Cabinet light in the bathroom not working ceiling light in kitchen not working , for 2 people stay the large balcony only has one chair and no table … and there was only 1 wine glass, for 4 night stay there were no spare bin bags… , air con broken, cannot regulate nor switch off as the dial to switch off broken. Maybe there was a way but no instructions how to use it available.. Dishwasher tablets supplied but dishwasher not switching on ( not sure if broken or disconnected). No dish rack to wash by hand… Unfortunately, the list seems endless… and most of these are small things that could be easily fixed for a small cost. We messaged property that could not wash dishes prior to the departure and no reply from the host.
Good with some details to be very good Check in simple and clear. Wifi was good. There were left even cereals for breakfast, it was great.
What could be improved: The bed was too soft, it was not comfortable. We haven’t foud out if it was recuperation who ford very loud and we woke up with headaches. And finally about 9 o’clock there was fire alarm in the building. It seemed it is usual thing for the locals as no one was running from their homes. Sorry, that was terrible experience.
Good We arrived in a rush to get to our dinner reservation, only to find out the room hadn’t been cleaned. There was trash and dirty sheets waiting for us.
Called the contact of the property and was given another room in another location with free breakfast. Great compensation for an otherwise annoying situation so we were happy.
It’s a pleasant stay Location of the property
What could be improved: Restroom should have been added one more
Wonderful The apartment is pretty close to the port and in the city center, so location is perfect.
There is plenty of space there for four people.
What could be improved: Everything was OK.
Good location, best value for Tallinn Very good location, near Viru gate, not far from sea port. Also connected to shopping mall.
What could be improved: Only bathroom’ curtains is not good.
Great apartment in the city center The location is so great. The apartment has a big balcony and it was so clean
What could be improved: Nothing i would say
Home away from home Spacious flat complete with facilities and stocked with goods and supplies.
