You know what caught me off guard about Luxury Suites – Rotermann by Rikas Hotels? It’s tucked right into this incredible historic quarter that most tourists completely miss – and honestly, that’s kind of perfect. I mean, you’re literally steps from Tallinn’s medieval Old Town (which gets absolutely mobbed in summer), but you’re staying in what used to be an industrial complex that’s been transformed into this really cool mix of galleries, restaurants, and yeah, some seriously nice accommodations.

The suites themselves are spacious in a way that feels almost generous for a European city hotel. I’m talking actual living areas where you can spread out your stuff without feeling like you’re playing Tetris with your luggage. The design walks this interesting line between modern and industrial – exposed brick here and there, but not in that try-hard way some places do it. What I really appreciated was the kitchen setup; it’s not just a mini-fridge and a prayer, but actual counter space and appliances you’d want to use. The beds are solid too, though if you’re a super light sleeper, just know that Roseni street gets a bit of traffic noise during the day (nothing terrible, just… city sounds).

Here’s the thing about this location that the booking sites don’t really capture – you’re in walking distance of both the touristy stuff and the places where actual Tallinn residents hang out. There’s this fantastic little coffee roastery called Røst just around the corner that opens early (trust me on this one), and the Creative City complex right there has some genuinely interesting shops and eateries. Plus, honestly, it’s kind of nice to come back to a quieter area after spending the day navigating the cobblestones and cruise ship crowds in the Old Town. The 4-star rating feels about right – it’s polished and comfortable without being stuffy, and the staff actually knows the neighborhood well enough to give you decent recommendations beyond the obvious tourist traps. I’d probably rate my experience closer to an 8 than the 7.9 average, but maybe I just got lucky with the weather and timing.

  Location was perfect for us. It is very close to old city and also the shopping malls if needed. The flat was clean, modern, beds were comfortable. equipments we needed in the kitchen were available. There was no luggage room to drop them before check-in i, but they provided an opportunity to drop them in a hotel nearby.

  The tricky instructions to get the key 🙈 Supposed to be : At the back of the hotel. The entrance with the sign Roseni 9 Roseni Residentsid. Juz infront of that entrance has a building with the stairs made up of steel & that is where u could find the Keybox (with Roseni 9 mark) . Hope it helps🙈 But overall we were happy coz they let us also to check in 1hr earlier than check in time 💫

  Location cannot be beaten – the apartment js right in the heart of Rotermanni Kvartal, within walking distance of the Old Town. Easily accessible by public transport to / from the airport and coach station. The apartment itself is in a new building, quite clean and comfortable enough for one person or a couple. It has got most of the necessary amenities (microwave, kettle, iron).
  
  What could be improved: 1. Finding the entrance to the residential part of the building was a bit tricky – the instructions could have been clearer as there is also a hotel in the same building.
  2. Fetching the keys from the locket hanging outside was an absolute nightmare. It was almost midnight when I arrived and -15 degrees outside (feeling more like -20) and it felt like my fingers were going to freeze and fall off while trying to put in the code and open the locket. This may work when the weather is not severe but I'd think about coming up with an alternative for the winter.
  3. Unresponsive host – firstly I wad given incorrect wifi login data. I sent a message to Anastasya on Sat morning and did not get any reply for an entire day. She did apologise the following day, saying she had a day off. Well, lucky it was not an emergency. And I figured out the Internet in the meantime on my own.
  4. The TV is surprisingly old for a relatively brand new apartment. It offers local and some international channels. There is no Netflix or other apps, you cannot even mirror the screen from your phone or laptop. The only hdmi port is taken by the local tv box.
  5. Very limited number of utensils and cheap, low quality towels in the bathroom.
  6. Very very soft mattress
  7. Bedside table would be welcome.
