Honestly, when I first pulled up to Lootsi apartment with sauna, next to Old Town, City Center, Port, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect – the name sort of gives away everything and nothing at the same time, you know? But once I got inside this 4-star place on Lootsi street, I realized the straightforward naming actually makes perfect sense. This isn’t some fancy boutique trying to be mysterious; it’s exactly what it says on the tin, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need.

The location is honestly brilliant if you want to feel like you’re living in Tallinn rather than just visiting it. You’re literally a few minutes’ walk from the medieval charm of Old Town (I mean, you can see the spires from some of the windows), but you’re not dealing with the constant tourist crowds right outside your door. The port area is close enough that you can hear the occasional ferry horn – which I actually found kind of soothing, though light sleepers might want to pack earplugs. What really won me over was how easy it was to grab morning coffee at the local spots on Mere puiestee before the tour groups descended, then slip back to the apartment when the old town got too hectic in the afternoons.

But let’s talk about that sauna – and I don’t just mean it’s there, I mean it’s actually good. After walking around Tallinn’s cobblestones all day (seriously, bring comfortable shoes), there’s nothing quite like having your own private sauna to unwind in. The apartment itself feels more like staying at a well-organized friend’s place than a typical hotel setup. The kitchen is properly equipped if you want to cook – I picked up some local black bread and smoked fish from the nearby market and had a better breakfast than most hotel restaurants could manage. Check-in was smooth, though the building entrance is a bit understated, so don’t expect a grand lobby experience. Parking can be a bit of a puzzle in this area, but they’ll give you the local knowledge you need to figure it out. The 8.1 rating feels about right – it’s not going to blow your mind with luxury, but it delivers on everything it promises without any unpleasant surprises.

  The apartment is generally nice but a bit worst than what is shown in the pictures. However, it has plenty of light which is always nice and a sauna which is charged separately. Also, there is the requirement to make a deposit in advance, which was unexpected.

  The kitchen faucet was leaking onto the floor. And when I told it to host first her suggestion was : can you fix it ? lol what ? 😂
  
  Didn’t like that instructions how to get in comes exactly at the moment when you can already check in, so, if you’re traveling from another country and don’t have internet connection, you have to go somewhere to catch it for possibility to get in. And when they come, there is note that you can check in at 15:15, booking says 15:00. Answers to questions from the host, didn’t came at all or it took like few days.

  The location was great, walking distance to most of the places. Apartment was clean and equipped with all essentials. From the bedroom and living room there was an amazing view over the harbor. Our host was very clear with information, and replied immediately to questions or concerns. I'd almost go there again only to see the amazing view, everything else was just a huge bonus on top of that. Definitely worth a visit if you have plans on going to Tallinn!
  
  What could be improved: Sauna was not what i expected. Not bad, but also not a "traditional Finnish sauna". Not possible to throw water on the stove, temperature was adjustable by a remote on the wall.
  Otherwise bathroom, shower, and sauna was really well cleaned and fresh.

  The location was great as well as the view from the window. The appartament is bright, easy to find. Close you can find many restaurants and a nice walk along the seaside.
  
  What could be improved: It was much smaller than you could imagine from the photos.
  The ladder to the bed was unstable, unattached and very dangerous.
  The water run off in the shower was very poor, after each time all the floor was completely wet (despite the curtains).
  The matress of the bed in the living room was worn out what made almost impossible to sleep on it.

  The apartment was bright and clean with really nice interior and amazing view on port. Its location was also great: close to the city center, a good restaurant (Argentina) and big mall were just nearby. Sauna was really good too.
  
  What could be improved: A bit of quest with keys but the host prepared good instructions to get them, so it was fine after all. Moreover, I did not expect a deposit for apartment, so you should check about it in advance.
  Even though apartment was really nice, it had some minor defects. So do not expect that it is new like on pictures.
