This place sits right in the heart of Kalamaja, which is honestly one of Tallinn’s coolest neighborhoods if you want to experience the city like locals do instead of just bouncing between tourist traps.

The apartment itself feels more like staying at a friend’s place than a typical hotel – and I mean that in the best way possible. It’s got this relaxed, lived-in vibe that makes you want to actually unpack your suitcase instead of living out of it for three days. The space is surprisingly roomy for a 3-star spot, with these big windows that let in tons of natural light during those long Estonian summer days. What really won me over, though, was how quiet it gets at night. You’re close enough to the action that you can easily walk to Telliskivi Creative City (seriously, don’t miss the weekend flea market there), but far enough from the main drag that you’re not dealing with drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM.

Here’s the thing about Kalamaja that most guidebooks won’t tell you – it’s where young Estonians actually choose to live. You’ve got these colorful wooden houses mixed with converted industrial spaces, craft coffee shops that roast their own beans, and restaurants where the menu changes based on what’s actually in season. The apartment puts you right in the middle of all that authentic energy. I remember walking to this tiny bakery called Røst just five minutes away and having what might have been the best cinnamon bun of my life (and trust me, I take my pastries seriously). The walk to Old Town takes maybe 15-20 minutes if you’re not in a hurry, but honestly, you might find yourself spending more time exploring the neighborhood itself. There’s street art everywhere, little courtyards tucked between buildings, and this general sense that you’ve stumbled onto something special that hasn’t been completely discovered by tour groups yet.

The staff clearly knows the area well – they gave me directions to places I never would have found on my own, including this amazing seafood spot near the harbor that doesn’t even have a proper sign out front. With an 8.4 rating, you’re getting solid value without any major surprises or disappointments. It’s the kind of place where everything just works the way it should, which honestly feels pretty refreshing these days.

Hotel in Tallinn booking should be done early, especially during White Nights season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed cultural and technology events.

  Spokojna i bardzo ładna okolica portowa, do starego miasta około 25min pieszo, ale po drodze piękne targowisko i dwie kawiarnie-piekarnie. Mieszkanie odpowiednio duże, wszystko, co potrzebne, było dostępne. Łóżka wygodne, bezproblemowy dostęp do mieszkania, chociaż trzeba wbijać aż trzy razy dwa różne kody.
  
  What could be improved: Brak fizycznego klucza – trzeba zapamiętać/zapisać sobie dwa różne kody do drzwi. Zaraz pod oknem przystanek autobusowy, więc spanie przy otwartym oknie nie wchodzi w grę. Drewniana podłoga to absurd – klepka ruszała się pod każdym krokiem powodując hałas. Parkowanie samochodu nie jest zbyt oczywiste – miejsca jest mało, mamy zakazy, a do podwórka nie da się wjechać, bo brama zamykana jest na kłódkę. Ciężko też było znaleźć zewnętrzne kosze na śmieci, a jest obowiązek posprzątania po sobie. W telewizorze działały tylko aplikacje internetowe – brak sygnału lokalnej telewizji.

  The apartment had a lot of light and space. It was super cosy. It had all the necessary equipment. Very clean. And the location to visit downtown and Telliskivi loomelinnak was perfect.
  
  What could be improved: At one point in the middle of the night the upstairs neighbours started to dance or clean and the floors and ceilings are very sensitives. So you might hear the neighbors once in a while.

  Schönes Appartement in guter Lage. Fußläufig zur Innenstadt und zum Meer. Leckere Pizza und Cafés gibt es nebenan. Wir haben unsere Zeit sehr genossen!

  Asunto oli siisti ja tilava, keittiötarvikkeita hyvin ja lapset tykkäsi iltakylvystä ammeessa. Sisustus miellyttävä, kaappitilaa tavaroille hyvin. Lyhyt matka jokapaikkaan, saapumisohjeet tulivat hyvin ja asunto oli helppo löytää ja päästä sisään. Hyvin miellyttävä majoitus.
