I'll be honest – I wasn't expecting much when I first pulled up to 8ERA Business Executive Rotermanni Apartments.
I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to 8ERA Business Executive Rotermanni Apartments. The name alone sounds like corporate jargon, you know? But man, was I wrong about this place. It’s tucked right in the heart of Tallinn’s Rotermanni Quarter, which if you haven’t been there, is this incredible mix of old industrial buildings turned into this trendy cultural hub. You’ve got galleries, restaurants, and these beautiful cobblestone streets that somehow don’t murder your feet like most old European quarters do.
What really got me about this place is how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between business hotel efficiency and actually feeling like a home. The apartments – and they really are proper apartments, not just hotel rooms with a mini-fridge – have these floor-to-ceiling windows that flood everything with light. I mean, Baltic light can be pretty moody depending on the season, but when it hits these spaces just right, it’s something else. The kitchens are actually functional too, not those sad hotel kitchenettes where you can barely boil water. I found myself making proper coffee in the morning instead of relying on whatever’s downstairs, which honestly says a lot about a place. The furnishings have this clean Scandinavian thing going on – not sterile, more like… intentional? Everything’s where it should be, and the beds are properly firm without feeling like you’re sleeping on concrete.
The location though – that’s where this place really shines. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Tallinn’s Old Town, but you’re not dealing with the tourist chaos right outside your door. Instead, you get to wander through Rotermanni first, maybe grab a coffee at one of those little spots that locals actually frequent, then make your way over to see the medieval stuff when you’re ready. The 9.2 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed here because it’s those little details that add up – the check-in process that doesn’t make you want to scream, the fact that the Wi-Fi actually works (crucial for business travelers), and honestly, the cleanliness level that makes you comfortable walking around barefoot. I’ve stayed in plenty of four-star places that felt like they were coasting on their rating, but this one feels like they’re actually trying to earn it every day. The only minor thing I’d mention is that if you’re someone who needs constant room service or a concierge holding your hand, this might feel a bit too independent – but for most people, that’s actually a feature, not a bug.
Travelers should reserve a hotel in Tallinn at least two months ahead for major events like music festivals, ensuring the best rates and prime locations near historic attractions.

What Our Guests Say
everything was great
What could be improved: There is no microwave in the apartments
The location is perfect. Close to numerous restaurants and cafes, while being in easy walking distance to the city center.
The distance to the ferry is also not far.
It was clean, well kept, and the amenities were lovely.
I would highly recommend this flat to anyone visiting Tallinn.
What could be improved: Overall, everything was great!
The lower wall around the bathtub is a little flimsy, but I am being very picky.
Great location in the heart of the city! Spacious, modern and impeccably clean. Very friendly welcome. As a “returning guest” (have stayed in the flat next doors before and will return in summer), I immediately received a WhatsApp welcome from the renting company, making me feel like coming back home. Excellent value for money (especially off-season)
What could be improved: As there is an office building right opposite, would have appreciated thicker side curtains for more intimacy (in January one has to have lights on all day). Bathroom is very spacious, the space could be better used to add a shower cabin or to have a chair or a small furniture to put toiletry.
Very useful WhatsApp instructions, including photographs.
We stayed in the apartment the 3rd time. It has a great location, is affordable and for a family of 3 people ideal. My wife and son (4years old) slept in the bed and I slept on the sofa bed which is fine. It is also big enough to stay in sometimes especially i. winter. It is equiped with the necessary, not too homey, but for us it didnt matter much. Also the cleaning was good and every 2-3 days the towels were changed (We stayed 10 days). Also the messaging and information for check in was good and clear.
What could be improved: One thing which is annoying that there was just one toilet paper roll on stock and after a few days we needed to buy our own toilet paper since it was not refilled and we stayed 10 days.. Not a big deal, but still something we consider a necessity and that should be provided.
Perfect location; self check in; apartments has everything needed.
Excellent location, clean, modern,
well equipped apartment.
Great location, with plenty of restaurants, cafes, wine bars, shopping centres, and supermarkets in immediate area. Really good food. The Old Town was about a 15-minute walk. Only 10 minutes walk from port if you come from ferry. Spacious apartment with cooking facilities and washing machine. There was a really good supermarket in the second shopping centre, past The Body Shop and downstairs where Boost Juice is. It wasn't very well signed posted, but well worth going to, it was much better than Rimi supermarket in the first shopping centre across the road.
What could be improved: Needed more basic supplies, for example, could accommodate 4 people, but only had 3 drinking glasses and 3 wine glasses and nothing that you could cook in the oven such as a baking tray or dish. Only minor things would be an easy fix to supply.
Great apartment was fantastic. Very clean and spacious. Everything worked well and a great space for working. Communication was very clear and made checking in very easy.
The kitchen was basic, but served is well for the week.
Location is excellent. Old town, supermarkets, cafe and restaurants at your fingertips.
Love the location. We came from the port terminal and it seem walkable so we decided to walk to the apartment. It was very walkable even we were dragging our carryon on snow. It is also walkable to Old Town Hall square for Tallinn’s Christmas market, mall, close to cafe and restaurants.
What could be improved: I didn’t notice anything I didn’t like during our two night stay.
