First Impressions
Walking up to Economy Hotel on Kopli street, you might wonder if you’ve stumbled onto something special — and honestly, you have. This three-star property sits in Põhja-Tallinn, which locals will tell you is actually one of the city’s most authentic neighborhoods. The building itself is modest, but there’s something refreshingly straightforward about a place that doesn’t try to oversell itself while quietly delivering where it counts.
Location That Actually Matters
Here’s what I love about this spot — you’re in Tallinn proper, not some distant suburb where you need a taxi for everything. The Kopli area has this genuine Estonian feel that tourist-heavy zones sometimes lack, but you’re still close enough to reach Old Town without breaking a sweat. Couples seem to get this particularly well (they rate the location over 9 out of 10), probably because there’s something romantic about discovering a neighborhood that feels real rather than manufactured for visitors. You know what’s nice? You can actually walk to proper grocery stores and cafes where locals hang out.
The Room Experience
My room was exactly what you’d expect from a well-run three-star — clean, functional, and surprisingly quiet given the urban setting. The beds are comfortable enough that you’ll actually sleep well, and the bathrooms are updated without being flashy. What struck me was how everything just worked properly — the wifi, the heating, the shower pressure. It’s not going to win design awards, but after a day exploring the city, you’ll appreciate having a space that feels like a proper retreat rather than an afterthought.
Breakfast Worth Mentioning
The continental breakfast here is honestly better than it needs to be for this price point. They do both continental and buffet styles, which means you can grab something quick or sit down for a proper meal depending on your day’s plans. I mean, it’s not gourmet, but there’s real variety and the coffee is actually decent — something you can’t always count on. The breakfast area gets good morning light, and you’ll often find yourself chatting with other guests who seem to be repeat visitors (apparently there are quite a few of those here).
Why Guests Love It
What keeps people coming back isn’t flashy amenities or Instagram-worthy lobbies — it’s the fact that this place simply delivers on its promises without drama. The location score of 9.3 isn’t an accident; you’re genuinely well-positioned to explore Tallinn while staying somewhere that feels connected to actual city life. The staff knows what they’re doing, the neighborhood has character, and you’ll leave feeling like you experienced something authentic rather than just another hotel stay. For travelers who value substance over style, Economy Hotel hits that sweet spot where everything works and nothing feels forced.

What Our Guests Say
Convenient location, money well spent Great location, very close to the old town and a nearby market place. Staff spoke English and was very friendly and helpful. Clean basic room.
Good location Location just next to the train station. Public buses and Tram stop just outside the hotel.
Good location, clean Good value for the price
Great location and friendly staff The location of the hotel is superb, right next to the train station for easy travelling to other cities and the charming Balti Jaam Farmer's market and mall, and just 10 mins walk from the old city centre. Trams and buses just outside the front door too. The staff were very friendly and super helpful. Brilliant value for money for the spot alone.
Very Good Excellent location, very friendly staff, good value.
The Economy Hotel is exactly what it says. A comfortable, no frills place to stay. I have stayed at this hotel before. It is "cheap and cheerful." It is very well situated on the edge of the Old Town and adjacent to the station, trams and buses. It offers good value for money (but is not luxurious!)
Clean and used to be grand, absolutely priceworthy. Location is very good and it is an old hotel, the building has a bit of faded grandeur about it.
I like this hotel location and room prices. I like the hotel’s policies about the economic. Helpful stuff and multi-languages.
Nice location.
Good It's located just in front of the main train station, close to the old town. The bedroom and bathroom are quite small but clean and convenient.
Good The shower was really nice
I liked that you could open the window and have a bug protector
And the location was 5 minutes away from everything
