First Impressions
Walking up to the fifth floor of this historic building on A. Lauteri tänav, I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect from Composer’s apartment. But stepping inside this four-star apartment in Tallinn‘s Old Town — well, it immediately felt like discovering a hidden gem that locals would want to keep secret. The space has this wonderful lived-in elegance that you just don’t find in typical hotels, and there’s something about staying in an actual residential building that makes you feel like you’re experiencing the city rather than just visiting it.
Location & Neighborhood
You know what’s incredible about this place? You’re literally in the heart of medieval Tallinn, but tucked away on a quiet street that most tourists never discover. I mean, you can walk to Town Hall Square in about three minutes, but A. Lauteri tänav itself feels refreshingly peaceful — no crowds of tour groups or street performers. The building sits right where locals actually live and work, so you’ll see people heading to their morning coffee or coming home from the office. There’s a small café around the corner that serves proper Estonian breakfast, and honestly, the cobblestone streets here are some of the most photogenic in the entire Old Town.
The Space
The room setup is what really sets this apart from your standard hotel experience. Everything feels thoughtfully arranged rather than institutionally furnished — there’s a proper kitchen where you can actually cook (not just reheat things), and the living area has these wonderful tall windows that let in so much natural light. The bedroom is separate and quiet, which couples especially seem to appreciate based on what I’ve observed. What struck me most was how the space manages to feel both historic and completely functional — you get those charming old building details like high ceilings and original floors, but also modern amenities that actually work properly.
Practical Perks
Here’s something that surprised me — they actually have free private parking on site, which is practically unheard of in Tallinn’s Old Town. Most places either don’t offer parking at all or charge ridiculous fees for it. The building itself is well-maintained and secure, and having a proper apartment setup means you can spread out your stuff and really settle in, especially if you’re staying for more than just a night or two. The restaurant scene in this neighborhood is fantastic too — you’re within walking distance of some of Tallinn’s best local spots that tourists rarely find.
Why Guests Love It
What really makes this place special is how it strikes that perfect balance between authentic local living and comfortable accommodation. You’re not staying in some sterile hotel room — you’re experiencing Tallinn the way people actually live here, but with all the conveniences you need as a traveler. The location score of 10.0 isn’t just marketing speak; you really are positioned perfectly to explore both the tourist highlights and the hidden corners that make Tallinn so captivating. Plus, there’s something romantic about staying in a composer’s apartment in this musical city — it adds a layer of character that you just can’t manufacture.

Wonderful It had a feeling like I was home.
What could be improved: Not having an elevator is an issue with the luggage.
