You know what? I wasn’t expecting much when I first heard about Comfy studio at Rotermanni Quater – I mean, the name sounds pretty straightforward, right? But honestly, this little 3-star gem completely surprised me. The Rotermanni Quarter itself is this fascinating blend of old industrial charm and modern Estonian cool that most tourists totally miss. You’re literally staying in what used to be Tallinn’s industrial heart, surrounded by these beautifully restored red brick buildings that now house some of the city’s best design shops and cafes.

The studio itself lives up to its name – it’s genuinely comfy in that unpretentious way that actually matters when you’re traveling. What I really appreciated was how they managed to keep some of the industrial character (exposed brick here and there, high ceilings) while making it feel like home. The kitchenette is small but functional – I actually cooked a few meals there using ingredients from the Rimi supermarket that’s just a short walk away. The bed was surprisingly good quality for a 3-star place, and the whole space felt clean and well-maintained without being sterile. There’s this nice natural light that comes through during the day, which makes the space feel bigger than it probably is.

Here’s what I think makes this place special though – the location is absolutely perfect if you want to experience Tallinn like someone who actually lives there. You’re close enough to Old Town that you can walk there in about 10 minutes, but you’re not stuck in the middle of all the tourist chaos. The quarter gets this lovely quiet feeling in the evenings, especially around the courtyard areas where you can hear conversations drifting from the restaurant terraces. Parking can be a bit tricky (honestly, it’s Tallinn – parking is always interesting), but there are spots nearby if you’re driving. The tram connections are solid too – you can get pretty much anywhere in the city without much fuss. I’d definitely recommend this place, especially if you’re the type of traveler who likes staying somewhere with a bit of character rather than a generic hotel chain. Just don’t expect luxury – this is about comfort and location, and it delivers on both counts really well.
