Look, I’ve stayed in a lot of places in Tallinn, but City Terrace Apartment Avangard – Large private roof terrace honestly surprised me in the best way possible. Right on Narva maantee – which sounds intimidating if you don’t know the area, but it’s actually this perfectly positioned street where you can walk to Old Town in maybe ten minutes, yet you’re not dealing with all the tourist chaos right outside your door.

The thing that really gets you is that roof terrace (and yeah, they weren’t kidding about the “large” part). I mean, most places in Tallinn’s city center give you a tiny balcony if you’re lucky, but this? You’ve got actual space to spread out, have your morning coffee while looking over the rooftops, maybe even do some work outside if the weather’s decent. The apartment itself feels more like someone’s actual home than a rental – there’s this lived-in quality that I really appreciated. Everything works properly (you know how hit-or-miss that can be), the kitchen’s actually equipped for real cooking, and honestly, the whole place just feels… comfortable. Not trying too hard to impress, just solid and welcoming.

What I really loved about the location is you’re close enough to everything that matters – Kadriorg Park is a pleasant walk when you want some green space, and you can easily grab groceries or hop on public transport without any hassle. The building itself sits in this sweet spot where you get the urban energy without the street noise keeping you up at night. I stayed here during summer and again in early fall, and that terrace really shines when the weather cooperates – though even on cooler evenings, it’s nice to step out and get some air. The 9.7 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there; it’s not flashy or Instagram-perfect, but everything just works the way it should. Plus, check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward key-hunting or confusing building entry that sometimes comes with apartment rentals. If you’re looking for a place that feels like a proper home base for exploring Tallinn rather than just somewhere to crash, this is definitely worth considering.

  Tiny flat but everything you need, bed is coming from the wall, really clean, nice & spacious terrace which is amazing in the summer time, location is not bad – around 15/20 minutes walking to entrance of old town, cheap Stabb parking near the flat around 5 eur/ 24 hours. We really enjoyed staying there☺️

  apartament położony blisko starego miasta oraz Uniwersytetu Tallińskiego; bardzo dobrze wyposażony pod względem przygotowania posiłków (czajnik, ekspres do kawy, płyta grzewcza itp.; duży taras, który w sezonie letnim jest zapewne dużym atutem (niestety w zimie nie byłem w stanie go wykorzystać w pełni).
  
  What could be improved: jedynym mankamentem jest rozmiar apartamentu po rozłożeniu łóżka, ale ostatecznie da się to przeżyć 🙂
