I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Adelle Apartments Viru Keskuses being on the 9th floor, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But stepping out of that elevator, you’re immediately hit with these floor-to-ceiling windows that frame Tallinn’s Old Town like it’s a living postcard. I mean, you’re literally perched above Viru Centre, which is sort of brilliant because you get all the convenience of being right in the heart of everything, but you’re high enough up that the street noise just becomes this gentle urban hum.

The thing about staying here is that you’re essentially living like a local, but with the best view in the neighborhood. The apartments themselves have this clean, Nordic vibe – nothing fancy, but everything works exactly as it should. The kitchen actually has proper pots and pans (you know how rare that is in short-term rentals), and there’s something really satisfying about making your morning coffee while watching the city wake up below. What really got me was how the light changes throughout the day – in the morning, you get this soft golden glow coming through those big windows, and by evening, you’re watching the medieval spires light up against the darkening sky.

You know what I love about this location? You can literally walk downstairs and grab groceries at Rimi, or if you’re feeling lazy, there’s a whole food court right there. But here’s the insider thing – step outside Viru Centre and you’re about a three-minute walk from Raekoja plats, the main square where all the tourist action happens. Yet somehow, being up on that 9th floor, you feel removed from all the hustle. I actually found myself just sitting by the window with a glass of wine some evenings, watching people navigate the cobblestones below. The trams run right past – you can see them perfectly from up there – so getting anywhere else in the city is ridiculously easy. Honestly, for a 3-star place, it punches way above its weight. The 9.1 rating makes total sense once you’ve spent a night there; it’s one of those places that just gets the basics really, really right without trying to be something it’s not.
