W Apartments Uus-Hollandi with sauna Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked into W Apartments Uus-Hollandi with sauna, I wasn’t expecting much from the slightly industrial-looking building on Tuukri street. But man, was I wrong. The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of “oh, someone actually thought about how people want to live when they travel.” The apartments have that perfect balance of feeling homey without being cluttered, and the kitchen – you know what, it’s actually functional, not one of those joke kitchenettes where you can barely boil water.

The location is honestly brilliant if you know Tallinn at all. You’re right in the city center but tucked away on a quieter street, so you’re not dealing with the drunk tourists stumbling around at 2 AM (though honestly, Tallinn’s pretty tame compared to other European capitals). It’s maybe a three-minute walk to get into the thick of Old Town’s cobblestone maze, but you can also easily pop over to the more modern parts of the city center. I actually found myself using this as a perfect base – close enough to walk everywhere I wanted, but far enough from the main drag that I could get a decent night’s sleep. The tram connections are solid too, though you probably won’t need them much.

But here’s the real kicker – that sauna situation is no joke. After spending a day wandering around those medieval streets (which are gorgeous but absolutely murder on your feet), having access to a proper sauna feels like pure luxury. It’s not some tiny afterthought either; they clearly put some thought into making it a proper experience. The whole setup feels very Estonian in the best way – functional, well-designed, no unnecessary frills. I mean, when you’re getting a 9.6 rating, something’s definitely working right. The staff seemed to actually care about the place too, which you can tell immediately – they know the neighborhood, they’ll point you toward the good restaurants (skip the tourist traps in Town Hall Square, honestly), and check-in was refreshingly straightforward. The building itself has this cool industrial-chic thing going on that somehow works perfectly in Tallinn’s mix of medieval and Soviet-era architecture. It’s the kind of place where you end up staying longer than planned because it just… works.

  • We’re already looking forward to returning in the next six months and will likely choose this apartm – Medins from Latvia – January 20, 2025 (9/10)

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the apartment. The location and silence were perfect, providing a peaceful environment to rest between our oldest child's basketball tournament games. We specifically chose the apartment over a hotel (even though hotels like Hilton offered cheaper options with breakfast) because of the extra space, which made our stay more comfortable for our family with youngest kid (3+1) while oldest were had a busy 3 day tournament days.
The apartment itself was excellent, and we appreciated the thoughtful touches, such as detailed manuals and small welcoming gestures like Estonian muesli for breakfast. It felt like the place had a personal touch and personality, making it feel very inviting.
We’re already looking forward to returning in the next six months and will likely choose this apartment again because of how much we enjoyed our experience.

What could be improved: Our stay was enjoyable overall, but there are a few minor areas for improvement:

    1) Sauna charges: One of the reasons we chose this apartment was the advertised sauna. Unfortunately, it came with an additional cost, which we only learned about after payment. It would be helpful to clarify this upfront. We're not cash users, so this caused some unnecessary stress.

    2) Inappropriate artwork: The picture in the bedroom near the kitchen was not suitable for children (e.g., bordering on inappropriate themes). Thankfully, our 10-year-old didn’t ask questions, but it might be worth reconsidering for family-friendly stays.

    3) Garbage disposal: The rules require guests to take out the garbage. While we sorted waste into room bins and left the apartment tidy, we expect the final disposal to be handled by the cleaning team. Searching for street bins early on a Sunday, especially during a busy tournament trip, added avoidable stress.

Overall, we enjoyed the apartment but feel these improvements could enhance future stays.
