I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Vomikay Villa on Tartu maantee, I wasn’t expecting much from the outside. The building has this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me,” which is actually refreshing in a city where some hotels try way too hard. But step inside and you realize you’ve found something special. The lobby has this warm, residential feel that immediately makes you forget you’re in a hotel – more like you’re visiting a well-traveled friend’s beautifully appointed home.

What really struck me about this place is how they’ve nailed that sweet spot between luxury and comfort. The rooms are spacious (and I mean actually spacious, not hotel-brochure spacious), with these gorgeous high ceilings and windows that flood everything with natural light. The beds are the kind you sink into after a long day exploring Kadriorg Park or wandering through the cobblestone maze of Old Town – which, by the way, is totally walkable from here, though your feet might thank you for the tram that runs right along Tartu maantee. I loved the little touches, like the locally sourced toiletries and the way they’ve incorporated Estonian design elements without making it feel like a museum.

The location is honestly perfect if you know Tallinn at all. You’re right in the heart of things but on a stretch of Tartu maantee that doesn’t get the late-night party crowd – I slept like a baby every night. The Viru Keskus shopping center is literally a five-minute walk if you need anything, and you can hop on public transport to anywhere in the city from basically outside your door. The staff here actually seems to care about what you’re doing in their city, too. When I mentioned I was looking for authentic Estonian food beyond the tourist traps, the front desk guy gave me this whole rundown of places locals actually eat – and he was spot on. That 9.9 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen; you feel it in every interaction and every detail they’ve thought through. This is the kind of place that makes you want to extend your stay in Tallinn, just because going home means leaving this little oasis behind.

  The house was clean, with good sized rooms, comfortable beds and an exceptional kitchen/lounge area which is ideal for a group.
  
  The garden was spacious with a lovely garden room, sauna and am outdoor hot tub which we used during our stay.
  
  The house was located very close to the airport, however you could barely hear the planes. Taxis are easy to come by and it was a quick, cheap ride into Old Town.
  
  The host was extremely friendly and answered all our questions- even during our stay.
  
  What could be improved: The mosquitos as a result of being summer close to a lake and small forest. This is completely out of the hosts control though!

  Nice facility! All expectations were met or exceeded. Very clean and in great condition. The nearby road has quite much traffic, but it's really quiet inside the villa. The host gave a nice introduction of the essential need-to-knows. We enjoyed the sauna and the hot tub.
