Viva Apartment – Pirita Overview
You know what caught me off guard about Viva Apartment – Pirita? It’s actually way more charming than you’d expect from the name. I mean, “Viva Apartment” sounds pretty generic, but this place sits right in Pirita – honestly one of Tallinn’s best-kept secrets if you ask me. Most tourists never make it out here, which is kind of perfect because you get this authentic Estonian coastal vibe without the Old Town crowds.
The apartment itself feels like staying at a friend’s place who happens to have really good taste. It’s a solid 3-star setup, nothing fancy but everything works the way it should. The kitchen actually has proper knives (you’d be surprised how rare that is), and there’s this cozy living area where you can spread out after a day of exploring. I loved that you’re basically living like a local here – there’s a small grocery store within walking distance where the cashiers will try their Estonian on you, and the Pirita river is right there if you want to go for evening walks. The area gets pretty quiet after sunset, which some people might find too sleepy, but I thought it was perfect for unwinding.
Here’s the thing about staying in Pirita though – you’re about 15 minutes from central Tallinn by car, and the bus connections are actually pretty decent during the day. But honestly? You might not want to leave much. The Pirita Marina is gorgeous in summer, and there’s this whole network of walking trails through the forest that hardly anyone talks about. The medieval convent ruins are literally a few minutes away, and unlike the touristy spots in Old Town, you can usually have them mostly to yourself. I spent a whole afternoon there just reading and watching the Baltic waves crash against the shore. The staff was helpful when I needed restaurant recommendations too – they pointed me toward this little seafood place that definitely doesn’t cater to tourists but serves incredible fresh fish. Just don’t expect them to hold your hand through everything; it’s more of a “here are the keys, enjoy Tallinn” kind of experience, which I actually preferred.

Reviews of Viva Apartment – Pirita
Tan from Malaysia – 3 February 2025 (8/10)
Free park. Beautiful surrounding. Spacious room.
What could be improved: Water fr shower head and tap a bit cold in winter time. Spoon not enough for family of 5. Loud noise from the apartment next to us at the midnight. We couldn't sleep well.Toomas from Estonia – 7 January 2025 (7/10)
Great location. Next to forest and river. Silent place. The shop 13 min to walk. We were staying at the winter holidays and the temperature inside was 22 -24 degrees. It was very comfortable and warm. Kitchen has beautiful furniture.
What could be improved: The tab in the toilet was broken, the door lock in the toilet also broken. At the shower ceiling was mold. Bedroom door handle was broken. The baseboards on the floor are torn off. When you enter the room everything seems beautiful and in good working order. When you start using it everything falls off under your fingers. It's better not to touch the blinds on the windows, they fall off at the slightest movement I would consider that for such a money its quite ok apparent.Grigorijs from Latvia – 1 January 2025 (7/10)
What could be improved: Broken tap in a bathroom
Raimo from Finland – 1 October 2024 (7/10)
Suitable size and clean overall impression.
What could be improved: The apartment that was sold to us was not the same one that we got.
The apartment was supposed to have a sauna, but it didn't.Irena from Belarus – 6 September 2024 (8/10)
A spacious studio in a very quiet green location. Big grocery stores nearby, and a nice beach (Pirita beach). Great value for money.
What could be improved: Far from the city center.Marios from Finland – 14 June 2024 (6/10)
The apartment was big and spacious
What could be improved: The apartment was dirty and with many of the facilities not working or being old and dirty e.g. fridge, the oven the bathroom, e.t.c Also, there were some things broken like the doors and floor that were dangerous especially for a family with young children. Lastly, the pictures on the web do not match the reality as they were probably from another apartment (different floor, furniture and not any garden for the kids).Gareth from New Zealand – 13 September 2023 (9/10)
Beautiful apartment, lovely setting
What could be improved: No hot water (only warm), shower needs a shelf for soap, no coffee, tea, sugar providedKeli from Estonia – 11 May 2023 (8/10)
It is very big apartment (located on multiple floors – only stairs so not suitable for handicapped persons). There is plenty of room for big family or friends group.
There is everything in the kitchen to cook your meals – we cooked lasagna. Wolt is also delivering take-away orders there.Robert from United Kingdom – 26 February 2023 (8/10)
Place was clean, warm and great for what we needed for a night. Needs a car to get there, but fine by us for a short stay. Good value and would book again.
What could be improved: Bedding and towels etc all clean, but the kitchen had dirty pots, pans and utensils. Oven needs replacing it is so bad. But with a toaster and some tea-towels and clean utensils it will be nice.Katrin from Australia – 10 February 2023 (9/10)
