I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Villa Muusa with a cozy sauna, swimming pool and large beautiful garden, I wasn’t entirely sure what to expect. The address on Aate street in Nõmme had me thinking it might be some sterile suburban hotel, but man, was I wrong. This place sits in what’s basically Tallinn’s green suburb, and you know what? That turns out to be absolutely perfect if you want to experience Estonia without the constant buzz of Old Town tourists.

The villa itself feels more like staying at a really well-designed friend’s house than a typical hotel. The garden – and I mean this – is genuinely large and beautiful, not just marketing speak. I actually spent my first morning there with coffee just wandering around the grounds, which have this lovely mix of manicured areas and wilder patches that feel authentically Estonian. The swimming pool isn’t huge, but it’s perfectly positioned to catch the afternoon sun, and honestly, after a day of exploring Tallinn’s cobblestone streets, sliding into that water felt incredible. What really got me though was the sauna experience. Look, I’ve done tourist saunas before, but this one feels authentic – proper hot, the kind where you actually want to jump in that pool afterward. They clearly know what they’re doing here.

The Nõmme location is actually brilliant once you figure it out. Sure, you’re not stumbling distance from Raekoja plats, but the tram connections are dead simple (locals will point you right), and parking here is a breeze compared to the city center nightmare. I mean, try finding parking near Toompea – you’ll be circling for ages. Plus, there’s something nice about coming back to this quiet, tree-lined area after a day in the city. The neighborhood has this relaxed, residential vibe where you’ll see actual Tallinn families out for evening walks, not just tour groups. I grabbed breakfast a few mornings at a little café about ten minutes’ walk away where I was definitely the only tourist – that kind of authentic local experience you can’t really plan for. The staff at Villa Muusa seemed genuinely proud of their place, not just going through hospitality motions, and they had great recommendations for both tourist spots and places locals actually go. With that 9.5 rating, I was expecting something good, but this place actually delivers on being both comfortable and genuinely memorable.

  What could be improved: Cleaning fee was a surprise. 2 days before arrival we got information that we need to pay more for cleaning and that was in cash without receipt. That was weird.

  Villa Muusa was overall nice, the location was good, the beds and linens were good. BUT…
  
  What could be improved: The information on booking.com is partly misleading. The villa only has 3 bedrooms, which was a big disappointment. The kitchen utensils were limited, the deposit took a while to be returned and was only finally returned when we reminded them about it.

  A perfect place to stay for a holiday in Tallinn. Huge backyard is just ideal on warm summer evenings while cooking food on the grill, playing games with kids or enjoying drinks.

  Kokonaisuudessaan huvila oli näyttävä, tilaa riitti isommallekin porukalle ja piha oli siisti ja mukava. Sijainti lähellä Tallinnan keskustaa hyvä, kuitenkin rauhallisella paikalla.
  Päivät olivat melko sateisia, mutta yhtenä iltana aurinko näyttäytyi ja saimme nauttia pihalla grillaamisesta ja lintujen liverryksestä. Kaunis piha.
  
  What could be improved: Huvilan ulko-oven avainkoodin saamisessa hankaluuksia; saimme viestin vasta paikan päällä soittamalla majoittajalle, joka ei vastannut puheluun, mutta lähetti koodin. Tästä ei ollut missään mainintaa ja aiheutti sekaannusta.
  
  Huvilan varustelut varsinkin keittiössä melko puutteelliset. Pahin puute oli kahvinkeitin; isolla kahviautomaatilla, jonka käyttöohje puuttui, sai vain yhden kupillisen kerrallaan. Jouduimme ostamaan oman kahvinkeittimen 8 henkilölle. Keittiön liesi ei toiminut kunnolla. Saunaosaston lavuaari ei toiminut ja WC-pytyn kansi rikkinäinen. Saunan ja uima-altaan lattia vaarallisen liukas. Pihapelejä ja muita tarvikkeita ei ollut saatavilla (pingis, grillin sytytysneste). Varaston ovi lukittu.
  
  Selkeät säännöt, miten talossa tulee toimia, puuttuivat. Esittelyssä luvattu 4 makuuhuonetta ei pitänyt paikkaansa; löytyi 3 mh ja lisäksi iso avoin oleskeluaula, jossa levitettävä puusohva. Olisimme tarvinneet kaksi erillistä sänkyä kahdelle aikuiselle. Meitä oli 3 pariskuntaa + 2 naista. Lisäksi kaipasimme lisävuodevaatteita kuten peitot, lakanat. Kylpytakkeja oli vain 6 henkilölle, 2 puuttui.
  Mainittava myös, että huvilassa oli melkoisesti jyrkkiä rappusia, jotka kulkuesteelliselle hyvin hankalia.

  Suur maja.Alguses eksisime korduvalt majas ära 😀Maja seest ilus puhas ja korraliku antiikse mööbliga.Väga hubane.Kõik hädavajalik oli köögis olemas.Lastel oli huvitav majas peitust mängida.Toredad omanikud.
  
  What could be improved: Basseinis vesi oli pigem jahe.Pikemalt olles hakkas külm aga peale sauna oli hea jahutav.Aga oleks eelistanud soemat basseini.Lubati probleemiga tegeleda!

  Suurepärane kogemus.
  Aias oma väike purskkaev. Tegevusi palju erinevaid – sulgpall, lauatennis, korvpall, discgolf, lauamängud.
  Päike paistab täpselt aeda ning puud varjutavad tuult.
  2 istumisala aias, millest üks on katusealune ja õhtuse istumise ajal saab tööle panna tulukesed, mis valgustavad piisavalt ja annavad hubase olemise.
  Lastele ka väike mängumaja.
  Sobib ideaalselt nii peredele, kolleegidele kui ka sõpradele.
  
  Puuküttega saun ja bassein on 5+
  
  Kuigi öörahu on al. 23.00, siis väljas istudes ning jutustades, ei kaevanud keegi. Muidugi hoidsime vaikset tooni, et naabreid mitte häirida.
