I’ll be honest – I wasn’t expecting much when I first pulled up to Videviku Apartments. The name doesn’t exactly roll off the tongue, and let’s face it, apartment-style accommodations can be hit or miss. But you know what? This place completely changed my perspective on what a 3-star property can deliver.
The moment you step inside, there’s this immediate sense of space that most hotels just can’t offer. I mean, we’re talking actual kitchenettes with real refrigerators (not those tiny hotel mini-fridges that barely fit a sandwich), proper living areas where you can actually spread out, and – this was huge for me – enough counter space to unpack without playing Tetris with your toiletries. The apartments feel lived-in but not worn down, if that makes sense. Someone clearly put thought into the layout instead of just cramming furniture wherever it fit. The Wi-Fi actually works throughout the entire space too, which honestly shouldn’t be noteworthy in 2024 but sadly still is at a lot of places.
What really impressed me was how quiet everything stays, even when the building’s clearly busy. The walls must be properly insulated because I never heard neighbors coming and going – something that can absolutely make or break an apartment stay. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward; no lingering at a front desk while they try to upsell you on breakfast packages or spa treatments you don’t want. The staff seems to get that people choosing apartments over traditional hotels usually want a bit more independence. Parking was easier than I expected too, though I’d still recommend asking about spots when you book if you’re driving. The 9.2 rating this place pulls makes total sense once you’ve stayed here – it’s one of those properties that just handles the basics really, really well without trying to be something it’s not. You get reliable comfort, actual space to breathe, and the kind of stay where small details (like having a proper coffee maker instead of those pod things) remind you why apartment-style lodging can be so much better than cramped hotel rooms. It’s the sort of place I’d definitely book again, and more importantly, recommend to friends without any of those little disclaimers you usually have to add.
Hotel in Tallinn booking should be done early, especially during White Nights season when the city hosts internationally acclaimed cultural and technology events.
