The Burman Hotel
The Burman Hotel
You know what struck me first about The Burman Hotel?
You know what struck me first about The Burman Hotel? The moment you step inside, you’re hit with this incredible sense of being somewhere genuinely special – not in that over-the-top luxury way, but more like you’ve discovered a perfectly kept secret right in the heart of Tallinn’s Old Town. I mean, Rataskaevu street itself is one of those cobblestone lanes that feels almost too picturesque to be real, and this place just fits seamlessly into that medieval charm while somehow being completely modern inside.
The location is honestly perfect – you’re literally steps from Town Hall Square, but tucked away enough that you don’t get the constant stream of tour groups walking past your window. I loved that you could walk to pretty much everything worth seeing in the Old Town within five minutes, and the fact that it’s right near that little cluster of cozy restaurants and wine bars made evening plans ridiculously easy. The staff actually knows the neighborhood inside and out too, which is rarer than you’d think – they pointed me toward this tiny café on Müürivahe street that I never would’ve found otherwise. Check-in was smooth as anything, and honestly, the whole experience felt more like staying at a sophisticated friend’s place than a hotel.
What really sets this place apart though is the attention to detail that you only notice after you’ve been there a day or two. The rooms have this understated elegance – think rich fabrics and carefully chosen antiques mixed with all the modern touches you actually need (and the Wi-Fi is excellent, which matters when you’re trying to share those Old Town photos). The building itself has character in spades – you can feel the history in the thick walls, but they’ve done such a thoughtful renovation that everything feels fresh and comfortable. I particularly loved how quiet it was at night, despite being right in the center of things. The breakfast was another pleasant surprise – not just the usual hotel spread, but actually good local ingredients prepared with care. Sure, you’re paying for the premium location and that 5-star experience, but after staying in enough hotels that promise the world and deliver mediocre service, it’s refreshing to find a place that actually lives up to its 9.6 rating. If you’re planning to explore Tallinn properly and want a base that feels both luxurious and authentic, this is exactly where you want to be.
To book hotel in Tallinn during the famous Tallinn Music Week season, visitors should make reservations well in advance as the city attracts medieval history enthusiasts and digital innovation lovers from around the world.

Wonderful
Wonderful Mahtava palvelu ja aamiainen. Sänky oli mukava ja huone siisti.
What could be improved: Kuuman sään vuoksi ilmastointi ei toiminut kunnolla. Henkilökunta toi kuitenkin tuulettimen huoneeseen.
Perfect! Upea ja kaikki toimi.

Exceptional
Excellent Stay We had the absolute pleasure of staying at the Burman Hotel in Tallinn, and I can honestly say it exceeded all expectations.
The breakfast was exceptional, with hot food made to order, a wide selection of drinks, fresh pastries, fruit, and everything beautifully presented. It felt more like a boutique dining experience than a standard hotel breakfast.
The room was pure luxury, offering a range of thoughtful touches that really made the stay feel special. Each day, I was provided with a printed weather report, and lovely pillow treats like lip balm and face mist. The bathroom was fully stocked with high-quality shampoo, conditioner, body soap, and moisturiser, as well as extras like a toothbrush, toothpaste, face wipes, a comb and more, all replenished daily. Fresh towels and a fluffy dressing gown were also provided, which added that extra comfort after a long day exploring.
The staff were incredibly attentive, always friendly, and helpful, and genuinely seemed to care about making my stay as smooth and enjoyable as possible. Nothing was ever too much trouble, they truly went above and beyond.
If you're visiting Tallinn and want a stay that’s both luxurious and welcoming, I can’t recommend the Burman Hotel enough. I’ll definitely be returning!
What could be improved: Немного не хватало свежего воздуха в номере, хотелось бы понизить температуру кондиционера
Exceptional
Luxurious, professional staff, & high quality This is one of the best boutique hotels in the world. Everything was perfect. I had to double check that I didn't mistakenly book a room for € 1,000 per night, which exemplifies the level of quality here. Most notable was the highly professional & friendly staff. They deserve much credit for my exceptional experience. Lastly, access to the spa (steam room, jacuzzi, etc) itself was worth half of what I paid per night. When I return to Tallinn, I will certainly stay here again.
What could be improved: Nothing. Everything was exceptional.
Exceptional Прекрасный отель с великолепным обслуживанием!
