Tehnika 7 street apartments Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first walked up to Tehnika 7 street apartments, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The building sits on this quiet residential street in Tallinn’s Mustamäe district, and it’s got that sort of practical Estonian architecture that grows on you once you realize how solid and well-thought-out everything is. You know what I mean – not Instagram-pretty at first glance, but there’s something reassuring about the straightforward design.

What actually surprised me was how spacious these apartments feel once you’re inside. I mean, you’re getting proper living space here, not just a hotel room with a tiny desk shoved in the corner. The kitchenettes are genuinely functional – I actually cooked breakfast a couple mornings instead of hunting down overpriced café food, which honestly saved me quite a bit. The furnishing is simple but comfortable, sort of that Scandinavian-influenced style that Estonia does really well. Nothing fancy, but everything works, and the beds are properly firm (which my back appreciated after all that walking around Tallinn’s cobblestone Old Town).

The location is interesting – you’re definitely in a residential area, so it’s quiet at night, which I loved. But here’s the thing about Mustamäe that a lot of visitors don’t realize: it’s actually well-connected to the city center. There’s a tram stop maybe a five-minute walk away, and honestly, the ride into Old Town takes about fifteen minutes. Plus – and this is crucial if you’re driving – parking here is straightforward and free, unlike in the historic center where you’ll spend half your day feeding meters and dodging tour buses. The neighborhood has this authentic feel too; you’ll see actual Tallinn residents going about their daily lives, stopping at the little grocery store around the corner or walking their dogs in the nearby park. It’s refreshing after staying in tourist-heavy areas where everything feels a bit performative.

I should mention that the 7.2 rating feels about right – this isn’t luxury accommodation, and the three-star designation tells the real story. The WiFi worked fine for me, but don’t expect lightning speeds, and while the apartments are clean and well-maintained, you might notice some wear here and there. The check-in process was smooth enough, though I did have to coordinate timing since there’s no 24-hour front desk situation. But honestly, for what you pay and what you get – actual living space, kitchen facilities, peaceful nights, and easy access to both the city and practical amenities – it’s a solid choice. Especially if you’re planning to stay more than a couple nights or you’re the type of traveler who appreciates having some domestic normalcy while exploring a new city.

Reviews of Tehnika 7 street apartments

  • Very Good – Trisha from Australia – August 9, 2025 (8/10)

Cute little 2 bedroom apartment, plenty of room for a family of 4 and a dog. Owner was very friendly too and the location was perfect for us, walking distance to the old town via lovely park. Parking in the yard was a bonus too.

  • Very Good – Stefan from Serbia – July 29, 2024 (8/10)

The apartment is close to the city center. Although the apartment is somewhat older, the beds were very comfortable, and the kitchen was very well equipped with a new stove and microwave. The check-in system was very simple, and we received all the information on time.

What could be improved: Most of the negative comments from other users are justified – the apartment could be cleaner, and if you keep the windows open, there is a lot of traffic noise. However, neither of these issues was unpleasant enough to stop me from coming back. This is certainly not a perfect apartment, but for the price I rented it, it was extremely good, spacious, and comfortable.

  • Would stay here again! Very nice and easy place to stay, good value for money. – Jan from Netherlands – May 13, 2024 (8/10)

The location was very nice and the apartment is comfortable. It is in a basement, but with plenty of space, especially comfortable for a group of up to 4 people. Over that, there is couch beds to sleep on – which I assume are comfortable too but are in the living room. The check in process was easy and the neighbours were nice. Location is good, just a short stroll and you're in the old city, it is very close to the train station and artsy area.

What could be improved: The air in the basement is what it's like in a basement, a bit heavy/moist – but that is to be expected and nothing that keeps me from going there again!

  • Very Good – Aleksandra from Poland – August 26, 2023 (8/10)

Very close to the old town, private parking, quiet neighborhood, located in an interesting historical building, good Wi-Fi

What could be improved: There was a bad smell in the bathroom, 3rd person had to sleep on the couch which was a bit uncomfortable

  • Great Location and Spacious Apartment – Vidyadutt from India – August 13, 2025 (7/10)

We really enjoyed the location – just a short 10-minute walk to the Old Town, which made exploring so easy. The apartment itself was spacious and had a lovely vintage charm. We especially appreciated the bathroom, which felt modern, clean, and roomy compared to the rest of the property. Having reserved parking on the premises was very convenient. Communication with the host was smooth and friendly, and the check-in instructions were simple and easy to follow.

What could be improved: The apartment was quite well-equipped, though perhaps a little too full of utensils, and a few were not in the best condition. It could benefit from a bit more attention to cleaning, as there was some dust and the kitchen surfaces felt slightly sticky, which made some of the kitchen amenities less practical to use.

  • Good – Inese from Latvia – September 21, 2024 (7/10)

The apartment is very close to the old town and in my case it was very important. The host ensure us with private parking. For one night stay the apartment was ok. We were 5 people family and we have enough beds for each.
The hostess is very accommodating and I was able to agree with her on a later check-out time.

What could be improved: The apartment is located on the basement floor, so the rooms smelled of moisture and mold. To avoid moisture, the hostess provides customers with a dehumidifier. We use the dehumidifier and it helped. But for one night the apartment is very suitable, of course, if you don't have allergies.

  • Very Good – Tatsiana from Lithuania – September 8, 2024 (8/10)

Very nice apartment in an old beautiful building. Great location, about 15 minutes to Old Town. Host was very polite, organized early check-in.

What could be improved: Hot water in the shower is not enough for two people. Not so clean.

  • Good – Daniela from Czech Republic – August 27, 2024 (7/10)

The apartment is very well equipped. The location is not far from the center and at the same time it is in a fairly quiet part of the city. The noise from the road is not very audible. However, it is located in the basement and the air might feel damp and heavy for some, just like a regular basement would feel like. However there is AC in the accomodation and it helps with the air situation in the flat. The landlord is very nice and helpful (we didn't read her last email and had problems finding the keys). Overall, we were very satisfied with the accommodation, a small grocery store and a bus stop are not far from the accommodation.

  • Good – Theresa from Austria – September 1, 2023 (7/10)

Everything was easy to access and to find and its perfect for many people to have a lockbox for the key if you're not coming or going all together. its very cosy and well equipped!

What could be improved: its very loud to open the windows as they face the road side. Also there was no informations about the sauna, would be nice to get some informations about it. As its a low level flat the towels are not drying properly,

  • OK if you are staying day or two. – Melvin from Bosnia and Herzegovina – August 15, 2023 (6/10)

Has a lot of light. Bed is OK. Really close to old town. Good wi fi.

What could be improved: Building is quite messy. Bathroom has no ventilation and there is smell coming from it. Shower curtain is dirty, as well as shower head and hose. Walls are a bit thin and you might here neighbours if they are a bit more louder.
