Tallinn City Apartments Old Town Square Overview
You know what struck me first about Tallinn City Apartments Old Town Square? The fact that you’re literally living inside a medieval fairy tale, but with really good WiFi and modern heating – which, trust me, matters when those Baltic winds start howling in November. I mean, I’ve stayed in plenty of “historic” places that feel more like museums, but these apartments actually get the balance right between authentic charm and not having to rough it.
The location is honestly perfect if you want to be in the thick of things. You’re maybe thirty seconds from Town Hall Square, where all the action happens – the Christmas markets in winter, outdoor cafes in summer, and that constant stream of tourists taking photos of the Gothic spires. But here’s the thing locals know: duck down any of those narrow cobblestone streets radiating out from the square, and you’ll find these incredibly cozy wine bars and little Estonian restaurants that most visitors completely miss. The apartments are tucked into one of these quieter side streets, so you get the convenience without the constant chatter right outside your window. Well, except during Old Town Days in June – then all bets are off, but honestly, you’ll want to be part of that celebration anyway.
What really impressed me was how they’ve managed to preserve the medieval character without sacrificing comfort. The stone walls are thick enough that you barely hear your neighbors, and the windows – some of them are these beautiful arched affairs that frame views of red-tiled rooftops and church towers. The kitchens are actually functional too, which is rare in these historic conversions. I found myself picking up fresh bread from the bakery on Pikk Street and actually cooking breakfast instead of always eating out. The staff clearly knows what they’re doing – check-in was smooth, they had solid recommendations for restaurants (try Olde Hansa if you want the full medieval experience, though it’s touristy), and when I had a minor issue with the heating, someone was there within an hour. That 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve stayed there. It’s one of those places where everything just works, you know? And honestly, for a 4-star property in such a prime location, the value is pretty remarkable – especially considering you’d pay twice as much for something comparable in Copenhagen or Stockholm.

Gorgeous, modern apartment in the perfect location. There is no way the location could be better. Beautiful view onto the square and the town hall. Close to all the sights and restaurants in the old town of Tallinn, and just a block from a small but well stocked grocer. Don’t hesitate, book this place!
What could be improved: Parking was a bit of a hassle since it was a couple blocks away, but the instructions given were clear, and everything was just as stated.Sunna from United States – 15 March 2025 (10/10)

The location was great – right in the middle of the Old Town Square. It was a quiet time of year so I don't know whether it would be very noisy in the summer evenings – but for us it was perfect. The view was amazing over the square. Everything was managed well, we had to collect the keys from a location a minute's walk away – the instructions sent on how to do this were easy to follow and we didn't encounter any difficulties.

Location was exceptional overlooking the town square! The apartment was a beautiful place. Great for exploring Tallinn. Very clean & comfortable. I would definitely recommend the apartment for a Tallinn visit.
What could be improved: It was lacking in the ‘added extras’ that most apartments have, such as washing powder for the washing machine, and the little extras that you find in kitchens.
There wasn’t enough relaxing seating in the lounge for 4 people (seating for 3)Stephen from Australia – 7 January 2025 (10/10)
Great location.
Comfortable.
Well equipped kitchen, although a teapot would be nice.
What could be improved: The location is fantastic, but be aware that it can be a bit noisy, the Christmas Market played music from 10am to 10pm.
Wifi was terrible. Signal didn't reach the furthest bedroom.
The coffee table is a killer, the shape is weird and the legs kind of stick out – I stubbed by toes so many times!Anastasia from Greece – 27 July 2024 (10/10)
Unbeatable view, spacious with comfortable beds, two bathrooms and windows with double glazing isolating all the noise from the central square.
What could be improved: The lack of black out curtains in the main bedroom made it hard for us to sleep. They were pictured in the photos when we booked the room and there is a mechanism for them to be installed. We were very disappointed and it ruined part of our otherwise excellent stay.
