Studio Rohu Overview
I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Studio Rohu in the Põhja-Tallinn district, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The building sits quietly on Rohu street, and you know what struck me first? How peaceful it felt compared to the tourist buzz down in Old Town. This is actually one of those residential pockets where real Estonians live, which means you get a much more authentic slice of Tallinn life.
The studio setup here is pretty clever, honestly. These aren’t your typical cramped European hotel rooms – there’s actually space to breathe and spread out your stuff. I mean, at a 3-star place you’re not expecting luxury, but the owners clearly put thought into maximizing every square meter. The kitchenette situation is particularly smart if you’re staying more than a night or two (and with that 8.6 rating, people obviously are). There’s a small Selver grocery store about a ten-minute walk away, so you can actually save some serious money by not eating out for every meal – which, let’s face it, adds up fast in Tallinn’s tourist areas.
What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Rohu street doesn’t get the late-night foot traffic you’d deal with closer to Raekoja plats, but you’re still only about a 15-minute tram ride from all the medieval charm and craft beer spots everyone comes to see. The tram stop is close enough that you don’t need to think about it, but far enough that you won’t hear it rumbling by at 6 AM. Speaking of getting around – parking here is actually manageable, which anyone who’s tried to drive in central Tallinn will tell you is no small thing. The neighborhood has that lived-in feel with tree-lined streets and local cafés that don’t have English menus, which I found oddly charming after a few days of being surrounded by other tourists taking selfies with medieval towers.
The check-in process was refreshingly straightforward – no unnecessary upselling or tourist trap recommendations, just practical info about the area and how everything works. You can tell this place caters to people who are staying in Tallinn for real reasons, not just Instagram photos. I noticed quite a few guests who seemed to be there for work or extended visits, which usually means a place is doing something right beyond just the surface-level stuff. The whole vibe is more like staying in a well-run apartment building than a hotel, and honestly, that worked perfectly for me.
Tallinn’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with medieval charm, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this digitally advanced Baltic capital.

Reviews of Studio Rohu
Wonderful – Mikhail from Spain – August 19, 2025 (9/10)
Location, quiet place, very comfortable bed and pillow. Generally you have all what you need
What could be improved: To improve:
– if the apartment has a washing machine then there should be something to dry the clothes after washing. The suggestion is to put an electric heater in the bathroom.
– if the guests stay several days the consumables required should be calculated accordingly.
In general, a good apartment.Exceptional – Emma from Finland – June 1, 2025 (10/10)
The studio was lovely and the location was perfect for our needs. Lot of parks nearby and a very calm neighbourhood. All necessary shops etc. in walking distance & free parking on the street. Amazing owner too, very friendly & she responded quickly to all our messages.
What could be improved: I didn't find cutting board, that's only minus I can find.Wonderful – Marija from Lithuania – August 10, 2023 (9/10)
Nice area, there was everything needed to feel at home during the short stay. Although the studio is in the basement there was no traditional basement smell. Irins was very helpful
What could be improved: We had some laundry and there was no warm place tl dry them (it was not possible to turn on heating).Perfect appartment 20 minutes from the city center – François from France – March 5, 2023 (9/10)
Very good communication before our arrival.
The indications to get the keys were really clear.
Lovely appartment. No sound, comfortable bed, everything you need plus some tea and some biscuits !
Perfect wifi connexion.
What could be improved: We had to walk 20 minutes to go to the center.
The hot water tank was not that big for two persons.
Otherwise everything else was perfect !Wonderful – Annanel from Estonia – March 4, 2023 (9/10)

Always happy to return to this place. The host Irina is always helpful and the place feels like home! It was so nice to find it warm (heating on, extra blankets) after arriving in cold Tallinn, and the host made sure that I am comfortable and satisfied at her place. So nice, thank you!
Comfortable and easy. – Hanna from Hungary – May 19, 2025 (9/10)
We really liked that there was floor heating in the bathroom, so we weren't cold getting out of the shower. The location was perfect for us a lot of public transportation options just a couple of minutes away.
What could be improved: Even though there were shades for the window it didn't make it dark in the room once it started to dawn outside (which was around 3:30 am). This might not be a problem for all, but a good thing to know in advance for some.Very Good – Jan from Czech Republic – June 19, 2023 (8/10)
clean, good location, partly equipped kitchen
What could be improved: celling is really thin, so you can hear everthing from upstairs, bed could be more comfy
