Look, I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to Studio in Kalamaja on Vabriku Street, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. Kalamaja isn’t exactly where most tourists end up, and that’s actually what makes this place so brilliant. You’re staying in what feels like the real Tallinn, where locals grab their morning coffee and kids ride bikes down cobblestone streets that haven’t been polished up for Instagram yet.

The studio itself is pretty much what you’d want from a place that earns a 9.5 rating – clean, thoughtfully set up, and honestly just comfortable in that way that makes you want to stay an extra night. It’s on the first floor (which, you know, means no elevator struggles with your luggage), and the whole building has that renovated industrial vibe that Kalamaja does so well. The neighborhood used to be all factories and working-class families, but now it’s this perfect mix of artists, young professionals, and longtime residents who’ve watched the whole transformation happen. You’ll hear Estonian being spoken on the streets more than English, which I mean, feels pretty authentic for a travel experience.

What really sold me on the area was walking to Telliskivi Creative City – it’s maybe a ten-minute stroll and honestly one of the coolest spots in Tallinn. Former factory buildings turned into this hub of design studios, vintage shops, and cafes where you can actually get a decent flat white. The weekend flea markets there are something else entirely. And if you’re into that whole Baltic Sea thing, Kalamaja Beach is right there. It’s not exactly the Riviera, but on a summer evening when the sun takes forever to set, there’s something pretty magical about having a beer while locals are grilling and kids are splashing around. The tram connections from the neighborhood are actually solid too – you can get to Old Town in about fifteen minutes without dealing with the tourist crowds until you’re ready for them. Plus, parking in Kalamaja is way less of a nightmare than anywhere near the medieval center, which your wallet will definitely appreciate.

  Newly renovated, exceptionally clean, and convenient apartment! Although the location is very close to the hip Telliskivi area, the house is located on a quiet street. Combined with the comfortable beds, we had some great sleep here. Although the place is not huge, we had everything two people might need for remote working, cooking, and exploring Tallinn on foot/public transport. Hosts were very kind and helpful, and self-check-in was a breeze. I'll definitely return here next time I'm in Tallinn.

  Monolocale ben organizzato per un soggiorno breve. Cucina ben attrezzata. Bagno minimale ma corredato da tutto ciò che serve.Ottima posizione, a soli pochi minuti a piedi dal centro e dalla fermata dei mezzi pubblici, in un quartiere molto tranquillo ma vivace per la presenza di numerosi pub e ristoranti .Intorno a te trovi tutto per un soggiorno di svago . Ottima posizione più che nella città vecchia che è troppo turistica anche se deliziosa.
