The location is actually fantastic if you want to be right in the thick of things without paying Old Town prices. Suur-Ameerika 37 puts you maybe a ten-minute walk from Tallinn’s medieval center, but you’re still surrounded by the buzz of modern Estonian life. There’s this great little Estonian bakery just down the street where locals grab their morning kohuke (trust me on this one), and you can hear the trams rumbling by – which I actually found kind of comforting rather than annoying. The building itself has that Soviet-era apartment block vibe, but inside it’s been thoughtfully updated. Nothing fancy, mind you, but clean and functional in that Nordic way where everything just works. The studio layout makes good use of the space – I mean, it’s not huge, but there’s a proper kitchenette where you can actually cook if you want to hit up the Balti Jaam market for some local ingredients. The bathroom’s compact but modern, and honestly, the water pressure was better than some four-star places I’ve stayed.

What really won me over was how genuinely local the neighborhood feels. You’re not in some tourist bubble here – you’re living like Tallinians do. The grocery store across the street stays open late (crucial for wine runs), and there’s this hole-in-the-wall Estonian restaurant two blocks over that doesn’t even have an English menu but serves the best black bread soup you’ll ever have. Parking can be a bit tricky if you’re driving – street spots are hit or miss, but there’s a paid lot nearby that won’t break the bank. The 8.3 rating makes perfect sense to me because this isn’t trying to be something it’s not. It’s a solid, no-nonsense base for exploring Tallinn, run by people who clearly care about giving you a genuine experience rather than some sanitized hotel version of Estonia. If you’re the type who wants to feel connected to a place rather than insulated from it, and you don’t need someone fluffing your pillows twice a day, this studio hits the sweet spot between authentic and comfortable.

  Location is good. There are some street noise, but house (other apartments and stairwell) is quiet. There is small kitchen area with big fridge and stove for cooking. Bathroom is good and clean.
  
  What could be improved: There is big wardrobe for things, but separate armchair would be nice to have. I think maybe bed would be better instead of couch.

  Gut gelegenes Apartment mit allem was man benötigt. Die Schlafcouch war sehr bequem und das Apartment war sauber. Nach einem kurzen Spaziergang oder wenigen Haltestellen mit dem Bus ist man direkt in der Altstadt von Tallinn.
  Die Gastgeberin war sehr freundlich und hilfsbereit.
