Serenity in the City – Tallinn Retreat Overview

Honestly, when I first heard the name Serenity in the City – Tallinn Retreat, I rolled my eyes a little – you know how these boutique places can oversell themselves. But after spending a few nights here, I actually get it. This place manages to pull off that rare trick of feeling completely removed from the hustle of Tallinn’s Old Town while keeping you close enough to everything that matters.

What struck me first was how quiet it gets at night. I mean, really quiet – which is honestly surprising given that you’re still very much in the city. The rooms have this understated elegance that doesn’t scream “look at me” but just feels… right. The beds are genuinely comfortable (not just hotel-brochure comfortable), and there’s something about the lighting that makes you want to actually relax instead of immediately planning your next day. The bathrooms are spacious enough that you’re not bumping into everything, and – this might sound weird – but the water pressure is fantastic. You know how some boutique hotels sacrifice the basics for style? Not here.

The staff actually knows the city, which is refreshing. When I asked about good spots for dinner away from the tourist crowds, the front desk guy didn’t just hand me a generic list – he asked what I was in the mood for and gave me three specific recommendations that turned out to be perfect. One was this tiny Estonian place tucked away in Kalamaja that I never would’ve found on my own. That kind of local insight is worth its weight in gold when you’re trying to experience a city properly. The common areas have this lived-in feel that encourages you to linger – I ended up having some great conversations with other travelers over coffee in the mornings. And speaking of coffee, they actually know how to make it properly, which is more rare than it should be. The whole place just feels thoughtfully put together without being precious about it. Sure, it’s not the cheapest option in Tallinn, but when you’re getting a 9.7 rating from actual guests, there’s usually a good reason. This is one of those places where you’ll find yourself planning your next trip back before you’ve even checked out.

Reviews of Serenity in the City – Tallinn Retreat

  • Nice Unit in a Nice Area – Richard from United States of America (10/10)

Ersin is a very thoughtful host. He has everything you could possibly need in the apartment – down to needles and thread (literally).

  • We had a perfect stay. We’ll definitely come back next time we are in Tallin. – Dominika from Poland (10/10)

One of the most hospitable places we’ve been to! Great apartment, extremely comfortable! 🙂 Perfect location. Great host. 10/10 experience.

  • Clean and stylish apartment, responsive host – Juri from Estonia (10/10)

Cozy and well designed apartment, very clean and stylish. A friendly and responsive host. The apartment has everything you need – an oven, a microwave, a spacious fridge, an espresso machine, a washing machine, etc. Also, there is a private parking lot in an underground garage. Nice location, close to the city centre. There is missing TV, but it wasn’t important for us.

  • fantastic host and apartment – Svetlana from Russia (10/10)

It was a fantastic experience. I have been traveling around the world for many years, and hosts like Erin are rare to come by. The apartment was perfect. It had everything you could dream of in a short-term rental. Every little detail was taken care of, making you feel at home. It was incredibly stylish, trendy, and cozy. The mattress was luxurious! The house was new, and the neighborhood was beautiful. Within 5 minutes, you could reach a modern waterfront with trendy cafes and the Prato Museum. Within 10 minutes, you would be in the old city. Erin provided us with a local SIM card and even prepared some groceries, so we didn't have to rush to the store for breakfast in the morning. Our flight was delayed, and he met us late at night, which was a true gift, especially that I was with a child.

  • Good. – Yasmina from Romania (6/10)

The owner is a very nice person, willing to help and make your staying pleasant. The parking is underground and perfect.

  • Exceptional – Luigia from Italy (10/10)

🙂 – Maarit from Finland (9/10)

Tasokas asunto ja viihtyisä. Meille oli peräti vedet valmiina jääkaapissa sekä muuta tarpeellista, kahvit, teet jne. Vahva suositus, tykkäsimme olla!

  • Wonderful – Aarne from Estonia (9/10)

Väga kodune ja hubane. Vaikne ja mõnus ümbrus.

  • Exceptional – Natalja from Estonia (10/10)

Отличные аппартаменты, удобное месторассполодение, все продумано до мелочей. Есть бесплатная подземная парковка.
