Saue 1 Apartment Overview

I’ll be honest – when I first saw the address for Saue 1 Apartment, I wasn’t sure what to expect from this corner of Põhja-Tallinn. The neighborhood doesn’t have the tourist buzz of Old Town, but you know what? That turned out to be exactly why I loved staying here.

The apartment sits in one of those solid Estonian buildings that actually feels like home rather than a sterile hotel room. What struck me right away was how quiet it gets at night – none of that tram clanking or late-night bar noise you get closer to the center. The space itself is thoughtfully put together, with those little touches that show someone actually cares about the place. I mean, there’s proper kitchen equipment (not just a sad mini-fridge), decent water pressure in the shower, and – this might sound silly – but the wifi actually works consistently throughout the whole unit. You’d be surprised how rare that combo really is.

The location grew on me pretty quickly once I figured out the rhythm of the area. There’s a small market just a few minutes’ walk away where locals do their shopping, and honestly, picking up some Estonian bread and cheese there became part of my morning routine. The bus connections into central Tallinn are actually quite good – about 15-20 minutes depending on traffic – and parking isn’t the nightmare it can be in other parts of the city. I found myself appreciating having this quiet base to return to after spending days wandering the cobblestone streets and dealing with cruise ship crowds downtown. The host was pretty responsive too, though check-in was straightforward enough that I didn’t need much hand-holding.

Here’s the thing about this place – it’s got that 9.3 rating for good reasons that aren’t immediately obvious from photos. It’s clean without being sterile, spacious without feeling empty, and located in a way that gives you a genuine slice of how Tallinn actually works beyond the postcard views. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to duck into a real neighborhood at the end of the day rather than staying in some glass hotel tower, this apartment delivers on that feeling. Just don’t expect to roll out of bed and be at Toompea Castle in five minutes – but honestly, that trade-off for peace, space, and a more authentic Estonian experience was absolutely worth it for me.

Tallinn’s hotels showcase the perfect blend of medieval charm and modern comfort, with many featuring digital tour services and authentic Estonian hospitality.

Reviews of Saue 1 Apartment

  • Great apartment in great location – Marinelle from Netherlands – August 24, 2025 (10/10)

Convenient apartment that contains everything that you need: great bed, good shower, fast WiFi, well equipped kitchen, free parking in the street in front of the house. Very easy and friendly communication with the owner. Nice walk to the city center and some great restaurants just a few minutes walking away, so very well located.

What could be improved: When we arrived, the air was a bit damp, but after opening windows, it was ok

  • We could definitely stay again – Maria from Finland – April 25, 2025 (10/10)

Cozy and warm apartmet with everything you may need during your stay. Excellent location, short walk to Telliskivi and Old Town. Easy and free parking. Thank you, Peeter!

What could be improved: Nothing to dislike

  • price/quality perfect! – Wim from Belgium – July 18, 2024 (9/10)

city center whitin walking distance, room with everything you need, quiet environment, kitchen well equiped, clean and beautiful room

  • Perfect summer apartment close to Telliskivi with everything you need – Veronika from Latvia – July 2, 2024 (9/10)

The apartment is in a great location, and has everything you would need for a very comfortable stay! Peeter was a nice host and left us candy, as well as some toiletries, and washing machine detergent, all cleaning supplies and plenty of kitchen utensils! The bed and pillows were super comfy and the apartment was pleasantly cool for the summer.

What could be improved: Noticed a lot of dust in the shelves of the closet, so the cleaning could have been a bit more thorough. Also was surprised that for almost five days there were only two big towels and two small hand towels for both of us, no spare towels. Not a big problem, but just a matter of convenience.

  • Nice place to stay – Billy from Norway – June 24, 2024 (10/10)

Close to Old Town, it was nice to have a full apartment to myself and the bed was really comfortable

  • Apartments that feels like freshly renovated home with all the necessities. – Ludmila from Latvia – September 10, 2023 (10/10)

The place literally feels like home, freshly renovated home. You can see that the owner actually cares about their property, as every detail is being thought about. Bed is comfy, properly working air conditioning/heating, heated floors in the bathroom, washing machine etc. There was even welcome candies😊 There is everything you need. The host, Peeter was ready to kindly answer to our questions and provide all the necessary information for our stay. I enjoyed self check-in and self checkout too, really comfortable. Also the location is pretty good, ~15min walk to the old Tallinn.

What could be improved: Apartments are located partially under the ground level, so they lack a daylight a bit and may get a bit cold if you don't turn on heating, but, fortunately, apartments have all the necessary necessities to create a comfortable climate inside.

  • Exceptional – Tom from Germany – June 7, 2023 (10/10)

Very nice apartment, tasteful. Very helpful host.

    What could be improved: –

  • excellent base for a stay in Tallinn – Maya from Estonia – May 27, 2023 (10/10)

    comfortable and clean

What could be improved: nothing really
