Rotermanni studio apartment, large terrace Overview
You know what caught me off guard about the Rotermanni studio apartment, large terrace? It’s honestly way more impressive than I expected for a 3-star place. I mean, when you hear “studio apartment” you’re probably thinking cramped and basic, but this spot actually feels like someone’s stylish city pad that they’re letting you borrow for a few days.
The terrace is legitimately large – not one of those tiny balconies where you can barely fit a chair. I spent most evenings out there with a bottle of wine from the local shop, and there’s something really satisfying about having that much outdoor space in what’s essentially the heart of Tallinn’s creative district. The Rotermanni Quarter has this cool industrial-meets-artsy vibe that you don’t really get anywhere else in the Old Town area. During the day you’ll hear the gentle hum of people wandering between the design shops and galleries below, but it never gets obnoxiously loud – even on weekends when the area gets busier.
The apartment itself is set up smart, honestly. Everything you actually need is there without feeling cluttered, and whoever designed it clearly understands how people really live when they travel. The kitchen area works perfectly for morning coffee or putting together a simple dinner (there’s a decent Rimi supermarket about a seven-minute walk if you want to grab groceries). Check-in was refreshingly straightforward – none of that awkward key-hunting drama you sometimes get with apartment rentals. What really impressed me was the attention to details that matter, like proper blackout options for the windows and a shower with actual water pressure. The whole place has this clean, minimalist thing going on, but it feels warm rather than sterile, you know?
I should mention – and this might actually be a selling point depending on your perspective – the area has a really authentic local feel. You’re not surrounded by tour groups taking selfies every five minutes like you would be deeper in Old Town. Instead, you get to watch actual Tallinn life happening around you. The creative professionals heading to their studios, people meeting friends for coffee at the little places tucked between the converted industrial buildings. It’s honestly one of those spots where you feel like you’re getting a genuine slice of how the city actually works rather than just hitting the obvious tourist highlights. The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’ve been there – it’s not trying to be fancy, but everything it does, it does really well.

Great location near Viru gate and old town. The apartment was clean, has a large terrace, well equipped kitchen, washing machine and dishwasher. Would highly recommend this apartment for stay in Tallin.
Viktoriia from Ukraine – 3 September 2024 (9/10)
Excellent location- very close to Old town, supermarkets, public transport. All amenities are available (hair dryer, tea pot, fridge, TV, microwave, iron, wash machine, etc). Quiet inner own terrace with Cocoon chair for relaxation. Great owners, clear instructions how to get in.
What could be improved: Not much privacy on the terrace though, as separating panels between neighbours are too low 😉 so there might be people starting at you while you are in the cocoon chair 😉
I”d love to have some coffee/tea made available :/ as buying a pack worth 7 EUR for a few days of stay is a bit expensive. I bought and left my tea and cookies for next guests 😉Linda from United States – 11 August 2024 (10/10)
Great location, just outside old town and convenient to buses, shopping centers, restaurants and grocery stores. The kitchen was well equipped, the bed was comfortable, and the linens were nice. It was also very quiet.
What could be improved: The lighting was a little dim, but not a problem. The kitchen has a very nice oven, but there was no baking pan – just a small detail.Dana from Australia – 1 August 2024 (10/10)
Sensational location in the cool Rottermanni warehouse district with shops, bars, restaurants Spacious apartment, classy building, large terrace, very quiet, 10 mns walk to old town Comfortable beds, good shower, a strong fan was great as we had warm weather

What could be improved: Everything was great.Roberta from Estonia – 3 January 2024 (9/10)
Good location. Nice and clean apartment. Friendly and helpful host. Good wifi. Kitchen had everything needed.
What could be improved: Not enough towels in the kitchen and toilet paper in the bathroom. Was a bit difficult to find the place, but the instructions were detailed and clear. A bit pricey.Saeed from Pakistan – 10 December 2023 (9/10)
I loved the location. It is the best possible location in Tallinn. Groceries, shopping, tram connections, Taxi services, the ferry port and even the old town are all within short walking distances.
My host Lia was extremely cooperative and caring. She guided us to the location, while getting the keys and also allowed us for a late check out.
What could be improved: There is nothing that I did not like about my stay.Shahrul from Malaysia – 16 October 2023 (8/10)
