You know what caught me off guard about Rotermanni Mere Apartment? I walked up expecting another cookie-cutter place, but this spot actually has some character to it. It’s tucked right into the Rotermanni Quarter – and if you haven’t been to this part of Tallinn yet, you’re missing out on one of the coolest redevelopment stories in the Baltics. The whole area used to be this old industrial complex, and now it’s this mix of creative spaces, decent restaurants, and yes, places to stay like this one.

The apartment itself feels more like crashing at a friend’s place than staying in some sterile hotel room. I mean, it’s got that lived-in vibe without being shabby – you’ll find actual books on shelves, not just decoration nonsense, and the kitchen setup is legit enough that you could actually cook something beyond instant noodles. The location on Mere puiestee puts you within walking distance of both the medieval Old Town and the hipper Kalamaja district, which honestly is perfect because you can hit the tourist spots during the day and then find somewhere interesting for dinner without needing a taxi.

What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night – the Rotermanni area doesn’t turn into a party zone like some parts of the city center, so you can actually sleep. The rating of 8.5 makes sense to me; it’s not luxury by any stretch, but for a 3-star place, it delivers on what matters. The staff seemed to know their stuff about the neighborhood too, which is refreshing after dealing with front desk people who clearly don’t live in the city they’re working in. One small thing – parking can be a bit of a puzzle if you’re driving, but there are options within a block or two, and honestly, you probably won’t need a car much once you’re settled in. The whole setup works especially well if you’re planning to stay more than just a night or two, since having that apartment feel makes longer stays way more comfortable than bouncing between hotel rooms. Plus, being in this part of town means you’re close enough to walk to Telliskivi Creative City when you want to browse some actual local shops instead of tourist trap stuff.

  The apartment is comfortable and cozy, located very close to the Old Town as well as the port. There are many restaurants and shops around. It is in a nice, cool area

  The room is a bit small for 3 adults, but we checked in late at night and left early in the morning so it's pretty much ok. The bathroom is very clean and welll equipped. It's very near the old town with a lot of restaurants, so we can walk around at night and have our dinner. There is parking inside the building so we feel safer. The lady at the reception was super helpful. She gave us a detailed introduction of the area, where to go? What is good to eat and see etc …. Thank you so much for this!
