Rental apartment Toom-Kuninga Overview

Look, I’ll be honest – when I first heard about Rental apartment Toom-Kuninga, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The name has this old-world Estonian feel to it (Toom-Kuninga literally means “Cathedral King” if you’re curious), and honestly, that turned out to be pretty fitting once I got there.

The place is basically what you’d call a solid three-star setup, nothing fancy but definitely gets the job done. You know what I mean? It’s one of those apartments where everything works the way it should – the shower has decent pressure, the Wi-Fi doesn’t cut out every five minutes, and the neighbors aren’t blasting music at 2 AM. Actually, the whole building feels pretty quiet, which I really appreciated after staying in some places where the walls might as well be paper. The apartment itself has this lived-in comfort to it – not Instagram-perfect, but genuinely cozy. The kitchen is actually functional (I mean, you can cook real meals, not just heat up instant noodles), and there’s enough space to spread out your stuff without tripping over your suitcase every time you get up.

What really struck me was how the place sits in the neighborhood. You’re not in some tourist bubble – this feels like where actual people live and work. I’d walk out in the morning and see locals heading to their jobs, kids walking to school, that sort of thing. There’s a small grocery store maybe a five-minute walk away where the cashier started recognizing me after day three, which was kind of sweet. The whole area has this authentic vibe that you just don’t get when you’re staying in the hotel district. Sure, it means you might have to walk a bit further to reach some of the major sights, but honestly? That walk gives you a much better feel for how the city actually works. The rating of 7.9 feels about right to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it’s reliable and comfortable, and sometimes that’s exactly what you need. If you’re the type of person who wants to experience a place more like a temporary resident than a tourist passing through, this kind of setup really hits the spot. Just don’t expect room service or a concierge desk – you’re pretty much on your own here, which can actually be refreshing.

Tallinn’s apartments offer spacious accommodations with medieval charm, perfect for families wanting to experience daily life in this digitally advanced Baltic capital.

Reviews of Rental apartment Toom-Kuninga

  • Gert from Estonia – 7 September 2023 (9/10)

What could be improved: Päevakardinad võiks olla, oleks mugavam toimetada.

  • Sabrina from Finland – 14 August 2023 (8/10)

Kaikki oli helppoa, perustarpeita varten löytyy kaikki. Mahdollisuus tehdä ruokaa ja tarvittaessa jopa pestä pyykkiä. Noin 10min kävelymatkan päässä kauppakeskus Kristiinestä. Pyysin myöhäistä uloskirjautumista niin sain pari tuntia lisää aikaa.

  • Alina from Spain – 8 August 2023 (9/10)

Nice and cozy litte flat in a quiet place, not far from the centre and bus station. Well-equiped kitchen end everything else one may need.

What could be improved: the sofa-bed was not too convinient to use…

  • Jean from France – 4 May 2023 (9/10)

Proximité des arrêts de bus et tram, des commerces, du centre historique de et des musées

What could be improved: Les rideaux roulants en toile sont mal positionnés, pas occultants
Je n'ai pas eu la chance d'utiliser le poêle

  • Jenni from Finland – 20 April 2023 (8/10)

Kaikki sujui helposti ennalta annettujen ohjeiden mukaan. Naapureista ei kuulunut mitään ääniä. Koirat olivat tervetulleita.

  • Indrek from Estonia – 13 March 2023 (9/10)

  • Nora from Latvia – 2 January 2023 (9/10)

A nice and cosy apartment in a walking distance to centre. Kind hosts, pets welcomed. Clean and warm. Heating the furnace for us wasn't a problem, but may be it is for someone who doesn't know how to do it 😊

What could be improved: We wish for the second chair to sit by the table. And a lid for a pan.

  • Marina from Spain – 6 December 2022 (9/10)

Muy completo, limpio y la localización es buena. La dueña es muy atenta y está pendiente de que todo esté correcto

What could be improved: La entrada es bastante vieja y me costó sacar las llaves de la caja el primer día

  • Mirjam from Estonia – 1 May 2022 (9/10)

Küttepuude, hügieenitarvete jm eluks vajalike asjade olemasolu.
    Väga tore perenaine;
Küünlad ja kommid romantikaks või õdususe loomiseks, pesumasin ja soolpipar roogade valmistamiseks 🙂

    Soovitan

What could be improved: Dushikardin puudus, 1-hel rulool kett puudu.

  • Anastasiia from Ukraine – 26 April 2022 (2/10)

almost nothing. location was suitable for me, so this is why i stayed after all the problems with arrival and apartment

What could be improved: Apartment is very dirty, dog's fur was everywhere, starting from the couch\bed, chairs were covered with dirt and the fur, all the pillows in the wardrobe, all the linen was covered in that ugly fur and looked like it was never washed or ironed, laying crumpled on the shelves. I was forced to open two packages of duvet covers to put one on the couch instead of linen and second one on a blanket and thank god i came with my own pillow. Floor heating controller in the bathroom was clicking all the time, once per few seconds and quite loudly, so you cannot really make that floor warmer without going insane from that clicking (which you need to turn on, because there is no shower curtain and bathroom is super small, so to make the bathroom dry again after even the shortest shower you need to turn the heating on, especially when it is a cold period of the year).
All the surfaces at the kitchen, plates, glasses, floor were quite dirty too.
No plugs to dry your hair in front of the mirror. No iron (or at least i couldn't find it). Washing machine is attached to the pipes and electricity so suspicious and also is so dirty, that i didn't dare to turn it on
And that is after the horrible arrival to apartment – we had an agreement with the owner to meet at certain time and i had to wait for 40 minutes on the street, calling the owner multiple times, until some person came to bring the keys and he accused me that he was here about 20 mins ago and left because i wasn't there and he didn't have my phone number (though i was there for 40 mins already, coming even 5-7 mins before the agreed time to not make the owner wait, and how the hell i was supposed to give my phone number to a person that i didn't know was supposed to come instead of the real owner?
