Pelguranna Apartment Overview
Honestly, I wasn’t sure what to expect when I first booked Pelguranna Apartment – the name had me curious since Pelguranna is this interesting coastal district in Tallinn that most tourists completely miss. You know what though? That turned out to be exactly why I loved staying there.
The thing about this place is it sits in this sort of in-between zone that actually works perfectly if you want to experience Tallinn like someone who lives there, not just passes through. I mean, you’re still close enough to walk into the Old Town when you feel like doing the tourist thing, but you’re also in a neighborhood where you’ll see locals walking their dogs and kids playing in courtyards. The apartment itself is pretty straightforward – nothing fancy, but everything you need is there and it’s clean and comfortable. What surprised me was how quiet it gets at night, even though you’re not exactly in the middle of nowhere. I guess being tucked into Pelguranna gives you that residential feel without the isolation.
The rating of 9.4 makes total sense once you stay there, and it’s not because of any luxury touches – it’s because they’ve figured out the basics really well. Check-in was smooth (no weird key-handoff drama), the wifi actually worked properly, and the kitchen had real cooking supplies, not just a sad collection of mismatched utensils. I actually ended up cooking a few meals there because there’s this great little market nearby where locals shop – not touristy at all, just good fresh stuff at normal prices. The bathroom’s compact but functional, and honestly, after spending days walking around cobblestone streets, having a proper hot shower was all I cared about. One thing I appreciated was the windows – they let in good light during those short winter days, and if you’re there in summer, you can actually see a bit of the coastline from certain angles. The whole Pelguranna area has this maritime feel that’s pretty different from the medieval vibe of central Tallinn, which was a nice change of pace. It’s worth mentioning that this isn’t really a “hotel experience” in the traditional sense – there’s no lobby to hang out in or concierge to ask questions. But if you’re comfortable being a bit independent and you want a genuine local experience rather than the standard tourist bubble, this place delivers exactly that.

The apartment was comfortable and has all the basic things you may need including the washing machine
What could be improved: The building from the outside is old, however, the apartment is well-renovated, so no complaints at all.Anton from Finland – 31 October 2023 (10/10)

We have parked on free. There was a market very close house. It was easy to move to old town. There were everything i can cook. I was satisfied.
What could be improved: In my opinion, i would like to wash electronic coffee pot.Johanna from Germany – 28 June 2023 (9/10)
Great flat in a wonderful area. Close to the beach and lots of supermarkets close by. Public transport to city and to airport very close by and easy to find. Fantastic price! Exactly what we needed and wanted for our time there.
What could be improved: The shower is a little small. Nothing anyone could change considering the layout of the flat.Alexandre from Brazil – 16 June 2023 (10/10)
Good cost-benefit! The flat is comfortable and have everything that you need for your stay, either short and long term (e.g. bedding, kitchen utensils, etc). The neighbourhood is calm and quiet and a small market next to it.
What could be improved: Unfortunately, the location is not good (about 20-30 min away from the centre by bus), which can be challenging during the winter, where the pavement is frozen and slippery to walk around the neighbourhood and get the public transport.
