Old Town – Rüütli Apartment
Old Town – Rüütli Apartment
You know what hit me first when I stepped into Old Town - Rüütli Apartment?
You know what hit me first when I stepped into Old Town – Rüütli Apartment? The way the afternoon light filtered through those tall windows, casting these gorgeous shadows across what I can only describe as perfectly worn wooden floors. I mean, this isn’t your typical hotel experience – it’s more like staying in someone’s beautifully curated home, if that someone happened to have impeccable taste and lived right in the beating heart of Tallinn’s medieval Old Town.
The location is honestly ridiculous in the best possible way. You’re literally surrounded by cobblestone streets that have been here since the 13th century, and I’m not exaggerating when I say you can hear the church bells from St. Olaf’s throughout the day (which is charming until you realize they start pretty early on Sundays). But here’s the thing – despite being smack dab in the tourist zone, the apartment itself feels like this peaceful retreat. The walls are thick enough that once you close those heavy doors, the outside world sort of… disappears. I spent one evening just sitting by the window with a cup of coffee, watching people navigate the uneven stones below, and it felt like watching history unfold in real time.
What really sets this place apart though – and this is coming from someone who’s stayed in way too many cramped European accommodations – is how they’ve managed to blend modern comfort with authentic character. The kitchen actually works (I made breakfast there twice), the wifi doesn’t cut out every ten minutes, and honestly, the bed was so comfortable I overslept on my last morning. There’s this attention to detail that you don’t always get, like proper lighting for reading and enough storage space that you don’t have to live out of your suitcase. The bathroom has this incredible rainfall shower that I definitely didn’t want to leave, and the towels were thick enough to actually dry off with – small things, but they matter when you’re trying to feel human after long days of exploring.
I’ll be straight with you about a couple things though – if you’re traveling with heavy luggage, those medieval streets can be a bit of a workout getting there (though honestly, what isn’t in Old Town), and during peak summer months, you’ll definitely hear the tour groups passing by during the day. But that 9.3 rating isn’t just numbers on a screen – this place genuinely feels special. It’s the kind of spot where you find yourself planning your next Tallinn trip before you’ve even checked out, because you know you’ll want to come back to this exact same apartment.

What Our Guests Say
Exceptional The size and location of the apartment was just perfect. Great view over the Harju street in old town. Very pleasant reception. Highly recommend!
A mixed bag, but incredible value in a very good location This is a beautiful apartment in a very good location. It's very large and fairly modern. There's fast internet, a useable kitchen, a washing machine, and a wonderful terrace overlooking the square.
* Self-check in was easy
* Terrace with a wonderful view
* Clean
* Very spacious (albeit sparsely decorated)
Note: this is on the 4th floor with no lift. If you are elderly or unfit, I would consider another apartment.
