Old Town – Premium Medieval House Overview

You know what really caught me off guard about Old Town – Premium Medieval House? Walking up to this place feels like you’re stepping into one of those fairy tale illustrations – except someone actually thought to add proper plumbing and WiFi. I mean, the stone walls and timber beams are the real deal, not some theme park recreation, and you can tell the difference immediately when you run your hand along those worn surfaces that have been there for centuries.

The thing is, staying in a genuinely medieval building could go either way – charming or claustrophobic – but they’ve managed to thread that needle perfectly here. The rooms have these gorgeous exposed wooden ceilings that make you want to just lie there and stare up at the craftsmanship, but they’ve also figured out how to fit modern bathrooms without ruining the whole vibe. Honestly, I was worried about things like heating and noise (old buildings can be tricky), but the walls are thick enough that you’re not hearing every footstep from the room next door, and the updated systems actually work. The beds are proper comfortable too, which isn’t always a given in these historic properties where sometimes they prioritize atmosphere over a good night’s sleep.

What really sells this place though – and this is something you only figure out after you’ve been there a day or two – is how the staff actually knows the building’s quirks and the neighborhood’s rhythms. They’ll tell you which cobblestone streets get slippery when it rains (learned that one the hard way during my first visit), or when the local church bells ring so you’re not startled awake at dawn. The check-in process is refreshingly straightforward, no pretentious ceremony, just people who clearly care about the place sharing what you need to know. And speaking of the location, you’re genuinely in the heart of things – I could walk to most of the main sights, but more importantly, I stumbled across those little local spots that aren’t in guidebooks just by wandering the nearby alleys. That 8.9 rating makes total sense once you’re there; it’s the kind of place that exceeds expectations without trying too hard. Sure, if you absolutely need a fitness center or a massive lobby, this isn’t your spot, but if you want to feel like you’re actually experiencing the character of the old town rather than just visiting it, this medieval house delivers in ways that surprised me.

Many travelers prefer to book apartments in Tallinn through trusted local agencies that provide insider knowledge about the best neighborhoods for experiencing the city’s medieval heritage and modern innovation.

  • Huge, comfortable and spot on location – Richard from United Kingdom (9/10)

A huge, clean and comfortable apartment in a great location above the old town. Communication with the host was very good, fast responses and easy. The sauna was a bit smaller than it's looks in the photos but can comfortably fit 6 adults. Perfect for what we needed and would certainly stay again if I needed a large central apartment for a group booking.

  • Wonderful – Tuuli from Finland (9/10)

The house was like in the photos and our group of 11 adults and 4 small kids fit without any bigger problems. Quite neighborhood with an easy reach from the rest of the old town, Telliskivi etc.
