Look, I’ve stayed in plenty of places around Tallinn’s Old Town, and Old Town Apartment on Viru street honestly surprised me in the best way possible. You know that spot right where the medieval walls meet the busier part of the city center? That’s exactly where you’ll find this gem – and I mean that literally, since you’re basically a two-minute walk from Viru Gate, which is probably the most convenient entry point into the cobblestone maze that tourists love so much.

What struck me first was how quiet it actually gets at night, despite being right in the thick of things. I mean, sure, you’ll hear some chatter from the street during peak summer evenings when everyone’s wandering around with their cameras, but once you close those solid windows, it’s surprisingly peaceful. The apartment itself has that perfect balance of old-world charm without feeling like you’re sleeping in a museum – you know what I mean? There’s modern stuff where it matters (decent WiFi, updated bathroom, kitchen that actually works), but they kept some of those gorgeous original details that make Tallinn apartments so special. The wooden floors creak just enough to feel authentic without being annoying, and honestly, waking up to those medieval rooftops right outside your window never gets old.

Here’s what I really appreciated though – the location means you can duck out for fresh bread at the little bakery on Viru street before the tour groups descend, then spend your afternoon exploring Toompea Hill or just people-watching in Town Hall Square without dealing with hotel check-out times or breakfast crowds. Plus, if you’re planning to hit up any of the craft beer spots or those cozy little restaurants tucked away in the Old Town’s side streets, you’re literally stumbling distance from your door (which, let’s be honest, is pretty handy after trying Estonia’s surprisingly strong local brews). The 9.4 rating makes total sense once you’re there – it’s one of those places where every little detail just works, from the easy check-in process to having actual space to spread out your stuff, which you definitely don’t get in most Old Town hotels. I’d definitely book it again, especially if you want to feel like you’re actually living in Tallinn for a few days rather than just passing through.

  The apartment is incredible! Big, cozy, super equipped, incredibly clean, in a very central position but also very quiet thank to the double windows! The hosts are super easy to comunicare with, we spent a night in another city and came back and they even kept out groceries! We felt at home and would definitely come back! Thank you for making our stay the coziest possible!

  The property is located right within the Old Town as one enters from the main entrance towers of Tallinn old city. The room was clean, large and had all the facilities including a washing machine. All shops, restaurants are close by within a short walk. The linen provided was clean, good and ample.
  
  What could be improved: The room allotted was on the 2nd floor and there is no lift. So if you are travelling with big and heavy suitcases, there would be some lifting and lugging to be done. They do not have any rooms on the ground floor.

  Everything you need when travelling. Used this apartment a few times now and will always try and book when travelling to and from Narva Joesuu. Always very clean and has everthing utensil/gadget wise.
