I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name MYROOM-2 near the center and the Stroomi beach, I thought it sounded more like an Airbnb listing than a proper hotel. But you know what? That awkward name actually captures exactly what this place is about. It’s this unpretentious 3-star spot on Randla street that somehow manages to give you the best of both worlds – easy access to Tallinn’s medieval old town and a quick escape to one of the locals’ favorite beach hangouts.

The location is honestly pretty clever when you think about it. Põhja-Tallinn isn’t where most tourists end up staying, which means you’re not fighting crowds every time you step outside. I mean, you can walk to the city center in about 15 minutes (maybe 20 if you’re taking your time), but you’re also just a short bike ride or bus trip from Stroomi beach. And here’s something most visitors don’t realize – Stroomi isn’t just any beach. It’s where Tallinn residents actually go to unwind, especially during those surprisingly warm summer evenings when the sun doesn’t set until nearly 11 PM. There’s this whole pine forest area right behind the beach that locals use for jogging and walking their dogs, and honestly, it feels worlds away from the tourist-packed squares downtown.

The hotel itself has that straightforward, no-nonsense vibe that seems to work well for the neighborhood. With an 8.9 rating, they’re clearly doing something right – probably the fact that they don’t try to be something they’re not. The rooms are clean and functional (hence the “MYROOM” thing, I suppose), and the staff actually knows the area well enough to point you toward the good Estonian restaurants nearby rather than just handing you a generic city map. Parking isn’t a nightmare like it can be closer to the old town, which is a real blessing if you’re driving. The whole Randla street area gets pretty quiet at night too, so you’re not dealing with the bar noise that drifts up from some of the more central hotels. What really sold me on the place was realizing I could grab fresh bread from the local bakery in the morning, spend the day exploring Tallinn’s cobblestone streets and medieval towers, then actually decompress by the water in the evening – all without feeling like I was constantly surrounded by tour groups taking selfies.
