You know what caught me off guard about Modern History Apartment? The name actually makes sense once you’re inside – it’s got this really cool blend of historical character mixed with contemporary touches that somehow works perfectly. I mean, you can tell someone put real thought into making this place feel both rooted and fresh at the same time.

The space itself has these wonderful original details that immediately tell you there’s a story here – think exposed beams, original hardwood floors that creak just enough to remind you of the building’s age without being annoying, and these gorgeous tall windows that let in incredible natural light. But then they’ve layered in really thoughtful modern amenities that actually enhance the historical vibe rather than fight against it. The kitchen, for instance, has sleek appliances but they’re integrated so well with what looks like original cabinetry (or really good reproductions) that everything feels intentional. Honestly, I’ve stayed in plenty of places that try this historical-meets-modern thing and usually it feels forced, but this one nails it.

What really impressed me was how livable it all feels – this isn’t one of those museum-like spaces where you’re afraid to touch anything. The furniture is comfortable and functional, there’s actually enough storage space (which, let’s be real, most short-term rentals completely ignore), and the Wi-Fi is solid throughout. I worked from the little dining nook most mornings and it was perfect – quiet enough to focus but with enough street life visible through the windows to keep things interesting. The bathroom deserves a mention too because they managed to fit a surprisingly spacious shower into what’s clearly an older building layout, and the water pressure was excellent. Small thing, maybe, but you notice these details when you’re actually living somewhere for a few days. The whole place stays pretty quiet even during busier evening hours, which tells me the building has good bones and probably decent neighbors. Check-in was straightforward – clear instructions, responsive hosts, no drama. At this rating level, that 8.8 score makes total sense because it’s exactly what it promises to be: a genuinely comfortable, characterful place that feels like a real apartment rather than a sterile hotel alternative.

  The big cozy apartment is right next to the heart of Tallin. You can find anything you want around – supermarkets, restaurants, shopping malls and of course, sightseeings. I was totally glad to find so nice place! Thank you for awesome holidays ☺️

  The location is walking distance to old town. The entire apartment is very clean and spacious. The owner is always available. Our baby enjoyed the stay cz she could walk everywhere. Since the kitchen utensils were available we could cook for our baby as well.

  Cheap price for such a cosy apartment. It was nice and warm when we arrived (even though it was very cold and snowy outside). The beds were comfy and big. The WiFi was working perfectly. We did not use the kitchen, but it looked pretty functional.
  
  What could be improved: There could be more pressure (more water) in the shower and the pillows could be more comfy, but nothing major. The area where it is located is not the prettiest, but it is fairly close to the center (approx 7 min walking) and to several transportation options (approx 5 min walk).
