I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to MEREKARP Living on Nooda tee, I wasn’t quite sure what to expect. The address puts you in Tallinn’s Mustamäe district, which isn’t exactly where most tourists end up, but that’s actually what makes this place pretty special. It’s got this residential, lived-in feel that you just don’t get in the Old Town hotels where everyone’s fighting for the same cobblestone views.

The building itself has that clean, Nordic aesthetic going on – you know, the kind where everything looks effortlessly modern but still somehow cozy. What really struck me was how quiet it is here, especially compared to the bustle you get closer to Raekoja plats. I mean, you’re still only about 15 minutes from the medieval stuff if that’s what you’re after, but honestly, staying out here gives you a better sense of how actual Tallinians live. There’s a Rimi supermarket practically around the corner (trust me, you’ll want to grab some Estonian craft beer and those amazing karask crackers), and the tram connections are surprisingly solid – the number 4 line gets you downtown without any fuss.

The rooms have this understated elegance that feels more like a well-designed apartment than a typical hotel setup. I particularly loved the attention to small details – the lighting actually works for reading in bed (shocking, I know), and the bathroom has proper water pressure, which… well, let’s just say that’s not always guaranteed in this part of Europe. The staff genuinely seems to care about getting things right too, which shows in that 9.8 rating they’ve managed to maintain. You can tell they’re not just going through the motions – they’ll actually give you real recommendations instead of just pointing you toward the nearest tourist trap. One thing that caught me off guard was how well soundproofed everything is; even with the windows open on a summer evening, you barely hear any traffic from the street below, just the occasional distant tram and maybe some kids playing in the courtyard next door. If you’re the type who likes to experience a city beyond its postcard moments – maybe grab breakfast at a local kohvik instead of the same international chain, or take evening walks through actual neighborhoods – this is your spot.

  Nice location, beautiful views, overall beautifully designed place. Host was friendly in communication .
  
  What could be improved: Didn't like that there are loads of spiderweb inside on the windows with big spiders and also outside on the outside furniture, which required a clean up 1st to use. Some doors are already not in a good state and it was a struggle to open, some parts broken.
  Didn't like that there is no grocery shop, but that's a location as it is.
