I’ll be honest – when I first heard the name Mardi Downtown Apartment, I wasn’t sure what to expect. The whole “apartment” thing made me think it might be one of those sterile Airbnb situations where you’re basically staying in someone’s converted storage unit. But you know what? I was completely wrong about this place.
What really struck me when I walked in was how they’ve managed to nail that sweet spot between feeling like a proper hotel and having the comfort of an actual home. The lobby area has this relaxed vibe – not trying too hard to be fancy, but clearly someone put thought into making it welcoming. The staff actually seemed to know what they were doing during check-in, which honestly can be hit or miss with these apartment-style places. I mean, I’ve stayed at five-star hotels where the front desk looked at me like I was speaking ancient Greek when I asked about late checkout.
The room itself was where this place really won me over. It’s got that lived-in comfort that’s so hard to fake – like the kind of apartment you’d actually want to live in if you moved downtown. The kitchen setup is legitimately useful (not just a mini-fridge and a prayer), and the living space doesn’t feel cramped even though you’re right in the thick of things downtown. Actually, that’s probably my favorite thing about staying here – you get the energy of being downtown without feeling like you’re camping in a shoebox. The windows let in great natural light during the day, and at night you can see the city settling into its evening rhythm.
Location-wise, you’re genuinely in the heart of everything without being on one of those streets where delivery trucks start their symphony at 5 AM. I walked to most places I needed to go, and when I didn’t feel like walking, rideshares never had trouble finding the building. Parking can be a bit of an adventure if you’re driving – it’s downtown, so you know the drill – but there are options nearby if you’re willing to walk a block or two.
What really bumped this place up in my mind was the attention to details that actually matter. The WiFi works properly (revolutionary concept, I know), the shower has decent water pressure, and the bed is comfortable enough that I didn’t wake up feeling like I’d been wrestling with a cardboard box all night. These might sound like basic things, but you’d be surprised how many places get them wrong.
The 9.1 rating really makes sense once you’ve spent a night here. It’s not trying to be the flashiest place in town, but it delivers on the things that make a stay memorable for the right reasons. Whether you’re in town for business or just exploring the downtown scene, this place gives you a genuine base to work from rather than just somewhere to crash. Plus, there’s something refreshing about staying somewhere that feels authentic rather than like it was designed by a committee of marketing people who’ve never actually traveled anywhere.

Exceptional The location is good, quite spacious despite the small size. Good blinds help to sleep. Everything was squeaky clean, with fresh towels and bedsheets. In the kitchen, there were some fruits and a small bottle of champagne, a very nice touch. A manager with excellent English met us and showed us around. Will definitely stay here again.
