Luxury Suites – Tatari by Rikas Hotels Overview

You know what caught me off guard about Luxury Suites – Tatari by Rikas Hotels? The name had me expecting something way more pretentious than what I actually found. It’s tucked right on Tatari street – and I mean right in the thick of things – but somehow manages to feel like this quiet little sanctuary once you’re inside.

The location is honestly pretty brilliant if you know Tallinn at all. You’re literally a five-minute walk from Viru Square, which means you can stumble to pretty much any restaurant or bar you want, but you’re also far enough from the Old Town tourist chaos that you’re not dealing with drunk bachelor parties stumbling around at 2 AM. I stayed there in late spring, and the walk to Kadriorg Park was this perfect morning routine – just head east on Narva and you’re there. The trams run constantly right outside too, which is clutch if you’re planning day trips or just don’t feel like walking everywhere.

The suites themselves are… well, they’re not luxury in that marble-everywhere, gold-plated-everything sense, but they’re definitely more spacious than your typical hotel room. Mine had this little kitchenette that actually worked – I mean, the coffee maker didn’t just make brown water, and there was real counter space. The bed was solid, though the pillows were a bit soft for my taste (I’m picky about that stuff). What I really appreciated was how quiet it gets at night. Tatari can get busy during the day with all the office workers, but evenings are surprisingly peaceful. The double-glazed windows definitely help – you can barely hear the trams, and trust me, those old Soviet-era trams aren’t exactly whisper-quiet.

Honestly, the staff made a bigger difference than I expected. Check-in was smooth, but more than that, the front desk guy – I think his name was Marten – actually gave me decent restaurant recommendations that weren’t just the obvious tourist spots. He pointed me toward this little Georgian place on Pärnu maantee that ended up being one of my best meals in the city. That’s the kind of local knowledge that makes a stay memorable, you know?

The 7.8 rating makes sense to me – it’s not going to blow your mind, but it delivers on what it promises without any nasty surprises. The price point felt fair for what you get, especially considering you’re basically in the city center. I’ve stayed in places that cost twice as much and felt less comfortable. The breakfast was decent – nothing fancy, but fresh bread and good coffee, which is really all I need to get going in the morning.

If you’re the type who needs a gym or spa or whatever, this probably isn’t your place. But if you want a clean, comfortable base for actually exploring Tallinn – and I mean both the touristy bits and the real neighborhoods where people actually live – it’s a smart choice. Just don’t expect luxury in the flashy sense. It’s more like… practical comfort with a side of local authenticity.

Clean, good location, good value for the money .

What could be improved: The light in the bathroom kept turning off. We had exactly 4 towels for 4 people, no hand towel, no face towel.

  • Very Good – Vladislava from Estonia – June 9, 2025 (8/10)

Location is pretty close to the Old Town. Tram station was 5 minutes from the property. Sofa and bed are very comfortable.

What could be improved: The toilet lock was broken so we couldn’t close the door.

  • Great apartment for family stay in Tallinn – Līva from Latvia – July 17, 2024 (8/10)

Everything was clean, rooms were spacious, we were provided with bed clothing and towels. Apartment was 3 bus stops away from Old town. There were clear direction from the owner about getting into the apartment and receiving the keys. We had a pleasant stay. The kitchen was well equipped, there was even coffee.

What could be improved: We could not find trash bins
    outside the apartment.

  • Great value apartment but it feel cheap and needs some repairs. – Natalya from Finland – April 24, 2024 (7/10)

    Location was great!

What could be improved: The bathroom sink was clogged and the kitchen sink faucet was loose. There was shower curtain or door that separates the shower from the rest of the bathroom.
