I mean, you’re literally staying in what used to be part of an old factory complex, but now it’s this sleek blend of exposed brick and modern design that somehow doesn’t feel pretentious at all.

The location is absolutely perfect if you actually want to experience Tallinn rather than just see it. You’re maybe a five-minute walk from the Old Town’s cobblestones, but you’re also right in the middle of Rotermanni Quarter where locals actually hang out – there’s this fantastic food hall called Depoo right around the corner, and the creative hub here buzzes with galleries and little boutiques that tourists usually miss entirely. What I loved is that you can grab proper Estonian craft beer at Pudel Baar just down the street, then be exploring medieval towers the next morning without dealing with any tourist crowds on your doorstep.

The suites themselves are surprisingly spacious – and I say surprising because three-star ratings can be deceiving, especially in restored buildings like this. Mine had these gorgeous high ceilings with industrial-style fixtures, but the bed was properly comfortable and the kitchenette was actually functional (not just decorative like so many hotel “suites”). The bathroom was modern without being sterile, which honestly matters when you’re staying somewhere for more than just sleeping. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward too – no pretentious lobby experience, just efficient and friendly staff who actually knew the neighborhood well enough to give decent recommendations. They told me about this little morning market on Saturdays that I never would have found otherwise.

One thing worth mentioning – the area can get a bit lively on weekend evenings since it’s become quite the dining destination, but it’s more energetic than obnoxious. Actually, I found it kind of charming hearing people enjoying themselves from the restaurants below rather than dealing with typical hotel corridor noise. Plus, everything quiets down by midnight anyway. Parking can be tricky if you’re driving (this is old Tallinn, after all), but there’s a decent garage nearby, and honestly, once you’re here you won’t need a car – everything worth seeing is walkable, and the tram connections are solid if you want to venture further out.

The 8.8 rating makes complete sense to me. It’s not trying to be luxury in the marble-and-chandeliers way, but it delivers exactly what you’d want from a smart, well-located base in Tallinn. You get character, comfort, and that rare feeling of staying somewhere that locals would actually choose for visiting friends rather than just another hotel that happens to be in Estonia.
