When I first walked into Luxury Suites Mere by Rikas Hotels, I’ll be honest – the name had me expecting something a bit more glamorous than what I found. But you know what? Sometimes being pleasantly surprised by a solid, unpretentious place is exactly what you need when you’re exploring Tallinn. The building sits right on Mere puiestee, which honestly is one of those streets that locals actually use to get around (not just tourists wandering aimlessly), and you’re maybe a five-minute walk from the medieval Old Town walls.

The suites themselves are spacious – I mean genuinely roomy, not that fake “European spacious” where you can barely open your suitcase. Mine had this oddly cozy living area that felt lived-in rather than sterile, with windows that actually open (thank god, because Estonian summers can get stuffy). The kitchen setup is pretty decent if you’re planning to grab groceries from the Rimi down the street instead of eating out every meal. What really struck me was how quiet it gets at night – Mere puiestee has some traffic during the day, but it’s not one of those main arteries where you’re hearing buses rumble past at 6 AM. The staff at check-in were refreshingly straightforward, no fake enthusiasm, just “here’s your key, breakfast is downstairs, WiFi password is on the desk.” Sometimes that’s exactly the vibe you want.

Look, this isn’t going to be your Instagram-perfect boutique hotel experience, and the 7.4 rating feels pretty spot-on – it’s good, not great, but it gets the job done really well. The location alone makes it worth considering because you can walk to Kadriorg Park when you need some green space (maybe fifteen minutes on foot), and you’re close enough to the port area that getting to the islands for day trips is actually doable without planning your entire morning around transportation. I’d definitely stay here again, especially if I was spending more than just a weekend and wanted somewhere that felt more like a temporary apartment than a hotel room. It’s the kind of place where you can spread out your stuff, make coffee in the morning without dealing with those tiny hotel room setups, and still be right in the heart of things without paying Old Town prices.

  A éviter ! Amis de la propreté, s'abstenir. Très sale. J'ai dû faire le ménage dans la salle de bain. Peu d'équipements ou équipements cassés. Pas de verres, rien pour faire le café. Bouilloire électrique inutilisable. Casserole et poêle crasseuses. Installation électrique douteuse. Pas de lumière dans la mezzanine. Aucune réactivité suite à nos remarques. Cerise sur le gâteau : apparemment au dessus d'une boîte de nuit, musique jusqu'à 7h du matin !

  What could be improved: Im not an active feedback provider, but this time, i thought I must address some. At least for concert day, this apartment is overpriced.
  The apartment has a kitchen in the same room where you sleep and live. There is no extractor hood or any kind of ventilation in the kitchen area, except you can open the window. Therefore, the whole apartment smells quite bad, and in the kitchen area, everything that you touch sticks and feels dirty.
  The electric kettle is with a burned hole – even can not fill the water.
  The apartment needs some attention from the owner and fixing some things. Luckily, I had a screwdriver with me, and I fixed the shower.

  Struttura molto carina, come in foto, con due belle finestre panoramiche, con tutti gli accessori e i prodotti per la casa e calda, anche il prezzo era conveniente

  What could be improved: The name of these apts "Luxury Suites Mere" suggests, that the rooms are luxurious. The truth is nothing like that; necessities missing: no microwave oven, no oven, no hair blow dryer. The bathroom has severe plumming problems, sewer dench is simply discusting there. And the most horrible feature: the strip club "No Nuns" is next door: they bang their music till 08 AM so sleepless nights were spent at room 16a. Never again this apt and absolutely not recommended to anyone!
