I’ll be honest – when I first pulled up to LURICH Residences on Valukoja street, I wasn’t expecting much from this corner of Lasnamäe. Most visitors stick to Tallinn’s Old Town, but you know what? That’s exactly why this place works so well. It’s tucked into a residential neighborhood where actual Estonians live, which means you get that authentic local vibe without the tourist crowds trampling around outside your window at midnight.

The building itself has this clean, Nordic minimalist thing going on – nothing flashy, but everything feels solid and well-thought-out. Check-in was refreshingly straightforward (no endless upselling or tourist trap brochures), and honestly, the staff seemed genuinely surprised when I mentioned I’d chosen the area specifically. They’re clearly used to business travelers and locals, which I actually loved. My apartment – because these are proper residences, not tiny hotel boxes – had this gorgeous kitchen setup that made me want to hit up the Maxima grocery store down the street and actually cook something. The windows face different directions depending on which unit you get, but mine looked out over the neighborhood’s mix of Soviet-era blocks and newer developments. It’s fascinating if you’re into that sort of urban landscape thing, and surprisingly quiet given that you’re still technically in the city.

What really sold me on the place was how it sits in real Tallinn life. You’re maybe fifteen minutes by tram to the medieval stuff everyone comes to see, but you’re also walking distance to Ülemiste Shopping Centre if you need anything practical, and the airport connection is stupidly easy – I mean, you can literally see planes coming in if you look the right direction. The Lasnamäe area gets a bad rap from some guidebooks, but they’re missing the point. Sure, it’s not postcard pretty like Toompea Hill, but it’s where you’ll find the best value Estonian restaurants and get a sense of how this city actually functions beyond the tourist bubble. Parking was never an issue (which, let me tell you, is not something you can say about staying in the Old Town), and I loved that I could walk to the tram stop without dragging my suitcase over cobblestones. The 9.2 rating makes perfect sense once you spend a night or two here – it’s not trying to be something it’s not, but what it does deliver is spot-on: clean, comfortable, well-located apartments with everything you actually need. If you’re the type who wants to experience Tallinn like someone who lives here rather than just passing through, LURICH is honestly one of the smartest choices you could make.

  Easy access to the airport, clean and apartment access was simple.
  
  What could be improved: The AC would not take the room below 23.5. The outside air got down to 13 C but since the windows had no screens we were uncomfortable letting mosquitoes feed on us all night.

  Located in Ülemiste City right next to the airport, LURICH Residences has an excellent location. It is very quiet, you do NOT notice the aircraft movements. The room was first rate and the bed extremely comfortable. On-site parking is and added bonus. Access to central Tallinn is easy and cheap with buses and trams leaving from several places in the vicinity – one right outside the door. We will book here the next time we are in Tallinn.
