The place has this cozy, residential feel that you won’t get in those big chain hotels downtown. I mean, it’s a 3-star property, so don’t expect marble lobbies or anything fancy – but that’s exactly why it works. The building feels authentically Estonian, tucked away on a quiet street where you’ll hear more Estonian being spoken than English (which I actually loved). What really impressed me was how clean and well-maintained everything was – seriously, with a 9.6 rating, they’re clearly doing something right. The rooms are simple but thoughtfully designed, and the staff genuinely seems to care about making your stay comfortable rather than just going through the motions.

But here’s the thing that sold me on this area – you’re literally surrounded by the coolest cafes, vintage shops, and local restaurants that most tourists never find. There’s this incredible breakfast spot just around the corner where locals queue up on weekends, and the Telliskivi Creative City (basically Tallinn’s hipster paradise) is an easy walk away. I spent hours wandering the colorful wooden houses in the neighborhood, and honestly, it felt more like staying in a real city rather than a tourist bubble. The location means you’re close enough to walk to the Old Town when you want those postcard views, but far enough away that you escape the cruise ship crowds at the end of the day. Plus – and this might sound minor but it matters – parking is actually manageable here, unlike in the medieval center where good luck finding a spot. If you’re the type of traveler who wants to experience a place rather than just photograph it, Kalamaja Garden gives you that authentic Tallinn experience without sacrificing comfort.

  The location is great – so close to the sea and to the old town. A very clean, cosy apartment. It is really comfortable and very well equipped, you have here everything you need for a short or longer stay. The bedroom and the kitchen are practically filled with all the stuff you need everyday. Two terraces are great! The bed and the couch are very comfortable, we could sleep well! The owner is so kind, helpful and receptive, answers really quickly. It was a pleasure to stay here, we'd like to come to Tallinn once again and we will definitely book this apartment again.

  Staying at Kalamaja Garden became an absolutely amazing experience for our family. The most important thing is a responsive owner. Stylish location near the sea, the maritime museum and the old town. Than it's clean, cozy apartment with its own little patio and the lawn in front of it. There is a well equipped kitchen with everything you need. Clean bedding and towels. We didn't think about anything, we just enjoyed our trip to Tallinn.

  The apartment was well-equipped and clean. The bed was so comfortable! A parking place in the warm garage was excellent, especially in wintertime. Note that there is no door in the bedroom doorway, only a curtain.

  Very clean, excellent location – just short walking distance from Old Town, easy check-in and check-out, free parking place in the underground garage, quiet and cosy neighbourhood. The apartment itself has everything required for a short vacation.
